The AC Milan Thread [2006/2007]

Is not a secret that Berlusconi has said in the past that we would loved to have Ronaldinho, it's been like this from 2 or 3 years already.

I don't think we would land ronaldinho... but this may be a smoke screen to land another big name, and that bigger teams won't get in the way.

I really hope kaka stay.... also in the ronaldinho thing, business between barca and chelsea are not that great, but Milan and Barca had a very nice history of successful trades, so who knows.... maybe its not ronaldinho but eto'o or deco ?

Some news and rumors....

Former Parma defender Daniele Bonera has been stunned by the speed of his move to AC Milan.

The 25-year-old was training with Parma only on Friday until he was told of his switch by his representative.

"My move was a shock," said Bonera at his official unveiling. "It was like a bolt of lighting out of a clear blue sky.

"I received a phone call from my agent while I was in training with Parma and I honestly thought it was a joke," he smiled.

"But seeing as I have always been a Milan fan, I just jumped in my car without even discussing terms over the length of the contract or my salary.

"This is a dream move for me."

Bonera has been linked with a switch to a big club for some time, but he won't be able to make his debut in the Champions League tie next month because of suspension.

"That's true, the club have told me that I have a one-match ban still to serve," he added. "It just means that the players will have to cope by themselves."

Rossoneri director general Ariedo Braida was the man behind the move and he's delighted with his capture.

"We've tried to sign him in the past, but because of a thousand reasons we weren't able to," stated the official.

"Today he is here with us and we are happy to finally have him here. Let's hope that he can do some important things and he can certainly do well.

"He's young, just 25, he has a family, a son and he therefore has all the human requisites to do well with us."

=============================================

The agent of Fernando Torres has opened the door to a move to AC Milan for the Atletico Madrid striker.

Milan chief Ariedo Braida refused to rule out bidding for Torres yesterday and the striker's agent, Antonio Sanz, admitted this morning: "Fernando at this moment does not feel he needs to comment on declarations about the future. He's been with Atletico Madrid since he was a child and it's logical he will show loyalty to them above everything else.

"He's a symbol of the team, but we know that Milan has followed him for many years and we cannot deny that they appeal to us, even if for the moment nobody from Milan has spoken to us."

=============================================

Atalanta director general Carlo Osti has refused to rule out a shock move for AC Milan striker Pippo Inzaghi.

Inzaghi and Inter Milan's Alvaro Recoba have been linked with promoted Atalanta and Osti says: "Inzaghi or Recoba? Bah, this I cannot answer.

"We say that Atalanta has a need for more players and it's exciting to hear great names, which can motivate the fans.

"If Inzaghi could come here motivated, then we wouldn't say no. We want to make a big-name signing."

Well, as far as Deco goes, Txiki assured he would not be sold, and that's something I completely agree with. He's not dispensable.

Eto'o can't be sold, either. He's our only real striker. We have four people that could play there. Eto'o, Eidur, Ludo and Ezquerro. We can't fill that position without weakening the wings or at least decreasing depth, so it's not an option. Two players for the striker role are Eto'o and Eidur. Selling one of them would be a bye-bye to the season. We can't afford to lose Eto'o, even if we wanted to.

I'm not including Saviola, because he's only officially a Barcelona player. Hopefully he'll be out when Laporta is reinstated.

You can have el conejo if you want. The price is only three million. We suck at selling players

Saviola will be a disaster in Serie A his body is not strong enough to take the pound. Now, maybe with the money of Eto'o or Deco you guys can make a push at Torres, Trezeguet, Zlatan (although you guys haven't been relate to him) and/or Crespo.

My favorite team from spain is barcelona and i read everyday sport and el mundo deportivo, so i now what txiki says and all... i just saying it may be a smoke screen, that's all. Like i said, Milan is probably targeting a big name (from another club) but using the biggest name in football right now and knowing that Chelsea and Madrid may pay closed attention to it, may leave some good player out of their radar.

I'd take Javier. But not to fill Sheva's void obviously. He has always been a favourite of mine so having him here would be great.

We seriously need to drop Amoroso and get someone better :(

Call me daft, but I don't want chimpansee-teeth in Milan, especialy if it means selling Kaka.

I agree, Saviola can't play in a league like that, nor in the EPL.

Deco and Eto'o are too valuable. Sometimes when I watch Barca, I don't even notice how important Deco is. Then at times all I hear from the commentator is "Deco this..." and "Deco that...", he's too important to sell.

Torres I don't really rate highly. He always scores against us, it's weird actually. But he can't seem to score against Madrid. Personally, I think Torres is currently overrated, but he could definitely develop into a world class player. I don't want himl, tho. I used to, but now there's Eto'o, and I doubt Fernando would want to sit on the bench.

Trez - I wouldn't mind him. Always admired his skills

Zlatan - Dislike his attitude. Thankfully we're not related to him

Crespo - my dream signing at the moment. Actually I've been wanting him for two years now. He would flourish with Ronaldinho and Messi assisting him, I wish he could come

He's yours, Sheva-[7]

Saviola would be damn useful when playing tight defences since his speed can change a game.

Too bad we arent linked with him. I think the latest I read was.. Racing Santander :|

Saviola is going to a big team, at least that's clear now.

I've read on xtratime that he could have signed for PSV, Barcelona even agreed to let him go for free, but then he decided to ask for a seven million euros sign-on-fee. 7M...

He either has a bigger club in mind (Arsenal, for example), or he is determined to stay with us, which wouldn't be weird, as he has a ridiculously high salary.

Frank doesnt want him tho, does he? I wouldnt mind Zlatan on our team. The obvious thing to do is sign Crespo tho, and he had a good spell here before.

Its sad if what the media are reporting are true. Money whore? :(

Gazzetta today said Ibrahimovic has chosen us over Inter.

Other reports..

"He (Cristiano Ronaldo) will not come to Milan because he would force a change in system. At the moment its easier to accommodate Ibrahimovic or Ronaldinho".

-Carlo Ancelotti

I think he was just answering media questions though. Not saying we are really interested. He's having a laugh if he thinks we're gonna land Ronaldinho. But we all know his sarcasm..

Ronaldinho would be more of a move to weaken Barça than improve our team. Of course, he's a great player but we dont need him.

hello, Sheva's gone, remember? Any forward/striker we get now will improve our team. Its just a matter wether they improve us a little or a lot.

I don't believe in the Ronaldinho rumour, it's too thick, just think of it that with that price tag we could buy half a new team. Also, he would be our only target if it were true, we are still heavily linked with Ibrahimovic, Buffon and Diarra. Unless Berlusconi has a donkey that ****s cash I don't believe it.

After tomorrow, hopefully we get into CL and all this mess is over.

I just cant take it anymore.

Ronaldinho is best played at midfield, wide on the left on a free role. Sheva was a target man, dropping back to make plays with Kaká or any upcoming midfielder. That's a big difference. We need a goalscorer, not creativeness.

With Seedorf, Pirlo and Kaká on the side, service for a striker is plenty. Ronaldinho is an improvement for any team (except his own NT, he's a liability there) but i repeat, we need a goalmachine, not a creative midfielder. We've got enough. Dinho would be a replacement for Kaká, not for Sheva.

If you're talking in terms of names, then yes, you sell a big name and you buy a big name, it makes sense. Position wise, that's not true.

Potential goal machine : Gilardino :read:

Kaká----------Ronaldinho

Gilardino

Cant Milan play like that?

tomorrow is our first game of the pre-season vs Lecco.

Potential line up :

Dida

Brocchi--Costacurta--Simic--Favalli

Gattuso-Pirlo-Seedorf

Gourcuff

Gilardino-Inzaghi

Maldini, Kaladze and Nesta are injured. Kaká isnt fit enough yet.
