LvG's Netherlands' 5-3-2 /4-3-3 seems to be working pretty well, especially offensively. 8 goals scored in 2 games but on the other hand, they conceded 3 goals in 2 games. I wonder if he can play a similar formation for us, but with a DM rather than an extra CB, i.e. a diamond 4-4-2:

I have always said that with the players we have, this is probably the best formation we have:

I think this would be a great formation for a couple of reasons:

1) All our wingers have become sh*t. Nani has failed to regain his form of a few years ago, Valencia is crap (seen his performances for Equador?) and Young is... Young. I think Nani can play in the forward position, like Robben does for Holland. Januzaj can come off the bench and play in behind the strikers - his favourite position. Not too sure about Zaha though.

2) All our top players would be in their favourite positions - Rooney, RvP and Mata. This formation would suit Kagawa as well, to provide cover for Mata. Welbeck would no longer have to play on the wing.

3) Our attacking fullbacks are all attack-minded, i.e. Evra and Rafael and that formation would suit them well.

Mata: 1 game, 1 goal
Evra: 2 games, 1 assist
Rooney: 2 games, 1 goal, 1 assist
Nani: 2 games 1 goal
Fellaini: 2 games, 1 goal
Chicharito: 3 games (all substitutes), 1 goal

The same team that needs "fundamental rebuilding" according to Moyes. They seem to be doing pretty good individually for their countries, without the curse of Moyes.
