Okay yes the ban to Zidane is stupid. THe whole point of punishment is that it should affect the person.

I'm sorry but that is load of crap.

Even though I support Zidane in the incident, and think Razzi is a tvvat... the only reason he's been banned is because a high profile player lost his rag! provocation happens every single game at every level of the game. Materazzi shouldnt have been punished.

absolute rubbish from FIFA on all accounts....

Has anything been proven about what he said? I remember an Italian lip reader coming up with something like "I wish a shameful death on your mother and sister the whore. Go f*ck yourself" or something like that, but if nothing has been conclusively proven...

Who cares what he said, it wasnt Racist. There fore its a fair game. Im sure it goes on all the time in games and he gets suspended because Zidane snapped this time, "mental disintergration" as Steve Waugh would say.

Its a disgrace

We will never know what was actually said but at least we may now have closure. Zidane gets a 3 game ban but will do community service with kids...Class. And he keeps the Golden Ball :rockman:

:nape: This has set a ridiculous precedent. Every player that gets sent off for retaliating now has grounds to get the instigator banned. Totally unjust and incredibly inconsistent based on the fact that this happens all the time.

How many times have the likes of Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and probably even Materazzi himself been sent off for retaliating due to provocation?? Learn to control yourself. Simple.

If FIFA are so desperate to rid the game of niggling tactics like provocation, why have they not seen fit to ban a few of the divers based on video evidence?

Zidane? Banned? Oh that makes a LOT of sense. Oh btw, that Shaun Newton TESTED POSITVE for cocaine, yet he gets a 7 month ban, and blatter doesn't even care. Ferdinand forgets to pee in a cup and he's witchunted by Bladder. I hope Bladder and the whole of Fifa die a slow painfull death the ****ers.
