They have quotas that they give to cops that force them to give out a certain amount of tickets a month. It's pretty much a backdoor tax, the city/state/police department/etc. doesn't have enough money and instead of getting money through taxes they just get it by pulling you over.

Exactly. Evidenced by the fact that on the 23rd to the 30th/31st of every month, theyre on the prowl everywhere. I agree, I cant blame the individuals themselves, but damnit, when I got nailed twice by two hiding out in some bushes around town (two different places, thank god, but the second one stashed his cruiser in the parking lot of the local mosque  ) in the span of a few months, i didnt care who was responsible.

Dont listen to these guys.

I love L.A.I thinks its the epitomy of what a city should be. Big and fun. There are a bunch of things to do such as going down to Venice beach or walking around the rich parts of L.A. such as Beverly Hills and Rodeo drive. Also if your a fan of movies or that type of stuff I'd Check out Universal Studios (maybe a little to kiddish) and the chinese Gromen theatre. Also Walking around downtown and going to chinatown or the 1000 other ethnic towns is fun. Trust me, youll have a great time in L.A. as long as you don't go thier expecting something scenic.

(Oh and the pollution and all that **** everyone talks about is bull. Its really no more dirty or smoggy than most other big cities.)

I don't think its kiddish, the Studio Tour (forgot what its called, when they send around the place and you see Jaws and King Kong) is great, one of my favorite "rides" (if you could call it that) at any theme park. Like I said already, the Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Pier are also good places to check out. And the smog is pretty bad man, coming from the valley you can barely see the skyscrapers from downtown LA most of the time. Its a great view when you can see them though.
