Gladiator was bad. It didn't deserve to be the best picture, but then agian, nolthing that year was good.

Gladiator certainly is not the best film ever, but it is not the worst, there are worse films, but it is certainly pretty sh!t.

I think.

That was 2001 I believe? If so, it was a sh!t year, but no way did Gladiator deserve to pick up five - there's nothing really special about it. I would have given the Best Picture award to Traffic, myself, but I have long ago lost my trust in the oscars. Lord of the Rings was just a typical examply of how crap and conformist it is these days, it getting 11 when Kill Bill was also out that year, I think not.

Lord of the Rings is just an epic trilogy. One of the best trilogies out there ever imo. Godfather may be better, but LoTR is just too damn classy. About the guy who said Star Wars was one of the worst movies ever, you cant be serious. Star Wars is legendary (the first trilogy, i'm liking the newer movies but i reckon the earlier ones are just too damn good), very important movie, and for the time they've been made, the special effects are brilliant.

I liked Gladiator aswell. About the Matrix, i reckon the first one was the best of the lot, i liked Reloaded a bit more than Revolutions. The 3rd movie was just not what i was expecting, i mean, i'm not too fond of happy endings, but Neo dying spoilt the fun for me. Still, i enjoyed it a bit, especially the city of machines part.

For me the worst movies i've ever see are definitely Wild Wild West, Batman & Robin and Daredevil.

I loved Gladiator. I thought it was ok for it to win Best Picture. Traffic was also great that year but you cant compare it to an epic film.
both films had great directors, great acting performances, but it came down to the epic aspect of Gladiator.

that year though, I would've given Best Actor to Tom Hanks for Cast Away (Y)

the lord of the rings is so overated particularly here in Nz where the media portrays them as the greatest films ever made. I found them incredibly boring .

stop ya bitchin.

Lord of the Rings has some great war scenes and has it's boring bits, but thats like a lot of movies, you guys might not like them but don't treat them like they are the worst films ever made, by far they aren't and you all know that as well as I do.

As I said before, none of you would know what the worst film ever made is, you will all just have opinions on what you have seen - obviously a lot of you don't watch films at all considering you say "STAR WARS" and "MATRIX" are the worst films ever... get f**ked mate, the first matrix was fantastic and the old star wars films are unreal.

You obviously havent read my posts in this thread? :p

Also, Callan, have you read the Lord of the Rings books? The films are an AWFUL adaptation of the books, puts me to shame, and some aspects are just so pathetic. I know they are good films with good acting, good sets, good special effects, good scenes etc but being the fan I am of the books, I just cant watch them without seeing the millions of inaccuracies and rediculousness's of them - hence I hate the LOTR films.
