Its not a bug either. Same thing happened to Brad Friedel in real life when he left Liverpool. He had too appeal for a WP twice because Liverpool didn't play him enough (90% of Liverpools games was the WP agreement).
Its just the English league, its so overly strict on FM its unbelivable, it always has been on the game though.

WPs is one of the reasons i dont like playing with an english club. The other being the 5 subs
i hate only having 5 subs lol, i dont know why. I tried to play French league but its the same.. 5 subs i dont like that.Well, I'm argentinian, I'm familiar with 5 subs. I just don't use a sub GK. When my GK is sent off or injured, I'm done, but that happens once in a thousand, and I prefer to have decent backup for a main position that has "more probability" of get injuries or red cards.
Basically, I use this line-up for 5 subs only:
*** Player that can play at D C (and DM C if possible; If below I have an Wing Back with only one side, I try that this player could cover the other)
*** One Full Back (D/WB RL if possible)
*** One wing midfielder (M RL if possible; Note: If first sub is only D C, I put here a DM C)
*** One Attacking Midfielder Centre (If above I must put an DM C, I try, if possible, to have a AM C + One or two sides. If I don't have a M RL, but instead a M R (or L), I try to have an AM LC (or RC)
***One Striker
And with that, I cover all the position except GK. Of course that if I have a polifunctional player, let's say, an AM RLC, I'll put a GK on the first sub spot :P
Well... all is far more easy with 7 subs.
