WC Round of 16: Switzerland vs Ukrane {P+R}

Neither team sucks they were just afraid to go all out in a freakin knock-out game. When Juventus played AC Milan in the CL final a few years ago (worst game I've ever seen) did all of you say "they both suck, neither one deserves to be here"? No you didn't so shut it. Teams will play like this in knock-out matches. What's the point of exploding on attack and running up and down the field like a maniac and risk leaving yourself open at the back and then get scored on? Instead just play a pragmatic but safe type of football and hope the luck goes your way. It did for Ukraine tonight.

or Ivory Coast or Czechs but nah, I think Ukraine are a good team and are capable of an attacking performance, I think it was the Swiss who really made the game slow and boring today.

okay... italy are through to the semis

switzerland is a bit better than ukraine but they both suck
But they can defend. The Ukrainians will give Italy a taste of their own medicine.

I think Ukraine can really test the Italians.

I look forward to this match. Especially if Italy overlook the Ukes.

I think Italy is sending Ukraine home. They looked pretty unimpressive today. Sheva will have to play monstrously well for them to have a chance.

Come on, Ukraine plays football based on strenght and running, but with limited technicall skills. I dont wanna to shootout with u here, go and celebrate, u have a reason. But Ukraine played only one good game, against undisciplined Saudi Arabia. Victory agains Swiss was lottery of penalty kicks and against Tunis was luck too, unegsistied penalty on Shevcenko, Anatoly s hand in penalty box etc.
I am not saying that Ukraine is a bad team just only that they play that Greek style of football that I am not fan of.

The thing about the World Cup is that 32 teams from around the world come together and each play their own interpretation of the beautiful game. Some teams are gonna be more physical than technical and some will be better on defense than offense. If everyone played the exact same way (with technical flash and pissazz like you, CRO_COP, are saying) then what would be the fun of the World Cup? We all love this tournament because of what every nation brings to the table.

Just go wack off to some Joga Bonito videos and leave the people who can appreciate the sport whether fancy or not in peace.

Go F*ck Yourself.

for one Ukraine plays a defnsive style of football. The pace of the match will be slow, and they have a world-class striker that can score whenever.

Not to mention that the two teams drew 0-0 prior to the World Cup.

What a crazy statistic, the Swiss are out of the world cup without actually conceeding a goal throughout the whole tournament.

That is a crazy statistic.

Poor Simonius, I bet he's gutted. If Thabo Sefolosha slips to the second round in the NBA Draft, we might be hearing about a Swiss College Student hanging himself. I think he's in Belgium, but not sure, haven't talked to him in over two years now. Dragan, Ryan, you know what's up with him?

Swiss striker Marco Streller blamed the fans and Fifa on the bad game.

"You can't expect the 22 players on the pitch to play exciting football when the fans are not involved in this game at all and rather chant "Lukas Podolski" and "We're going to Berlin without Holland". That's a disrespectful behaviour.
It turned out that 3/4 of the fans were German whilst many Swiss fans didn't get tickets. Fifa really disappointed me."

Hilarious.

Magnin was trying to raise up the crowd for the whole game.

BTW one question, how do the fans of countries buy the playoff tickets to support exactly their country? Or is it just you win a lottery in a pool and then whatever team plays, you chose one of the two and support them?
