Now the analysis...it's amazing how these dutches watch football. You weren't better than the portuguese. Never. Anytime. 11 vs 11, 10 vs 11, 10 vs 10, 9 vs 10, 9 vs 9. Never. Yeah, you had more shots, 10 of which went to the Eiffel Tower, more possession...but never seemed to use it. We did 3/4 counters that we could have made another goal.

Why are you cheering up about Ronaldo getting injured? That was a clear red card. If I was a player, I would go into Robben and do the same thing. I wouldn't care if I would be sent off. Btw...where was Robben? "Miguel encavou-o num chinelo"

Portugal deserved this. We may had less control of the game...but I think we showed the world who after all is Portugal. Everything was against us. And after I see this topic, it will be everything against us once again...not the Dutches support England.

The way you are defending your players is really too pathetic for words, I'm not defending any players tonight only van Persie who was the coolest one of them all and van der Sar of course, I feel sad for him his last WC and he had some fantastic saves tonight. I hope he will be our goalie at the EC in 08 but I think that Maarten v Stekelenburg will be our next goalkeeper.
van Basten will stay on as a coach and he should too, we lost 1 official game this one but did not give away one single game at the qualifications that says enough. van Basten is young and this team will only grow and........next time Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be there.

What the heck...Ivanov lost control of the match, defnitively. Half of those yellows in the game could be reds, easily. I'm curious wheter FIFA will take further action on the teams, for defending "Fair Play". Where are the over-zealous yellow/red card showers of Group Stage when they were actually needed to stop the game from turning into a battle? Even if you look the other games at this round, it seems that refs are more constrained to be ultra-strict on those crucial matches...

As for what was left of the match, the Dutch lacked that cutting edge, and - am I the only one on this? - experience to keep their nerves down. It seems that the biggest blow here will be on van Basten (quite sadly IMO), only made worse by the bad bad game Kuyt had. I think I saw RvN warming up just before Khalid elbowed Figo; he might have aborted the substitution then.

Now Sven has a gold chance to fine-tune England so to make them play some actually good football and beat a weakened Portugal. Anyway, things start looking good for Brazil...
