True Holland did dominate, but what do you expect Portugal were for the most down a man. The dutch were in the position of being most likely to score and they had tons of possesion. Portugal were dangerous on counters however. I don't understand why Van Bommel was taken out for Heitinga, here you are needing a goal and you bring in a defender. It's all or nothing at that point it doesn't make sense to put in a central defender when your down and you need a goal. I think Stam and Makaay (hunterlaar I understand since he hasn't really played for the senior team yet and lacks the experience), but both of the other 2 should have been calledup. In a game like this you don't field Hessellink and Kuyt, the portguese defence did very well to shut down the dutch and the only real threat was van bommel, Van Persie and cocu's shot at the post. Van nistelrroij is a much better player and should have gotten the nod over hesslelink, I just don't understand what he had to offer over Ruud.
The sad thing of all is that van Basten is the reason as well that we lost the game, leaving van Nistelrooy out was a big mistake and I'm sure he had opportunity enough to score tonight.
Kuyt is not the player we hoped for but van Persie definitely is what a player wow
my hat's off to him! Played a brilliant WC and we are going to really enjoy him at Arsenal. Time to go on vacation for the players and start concentrating on the EC 08. It's hard but that's football, not always fair and I should've known that the Portuguese who are normally rats showed why they are really piss poor players

Wow, this was a first. I was actually cheering for Portugal. Dirty game from both sides, but I think the Dutch were worse. It basically all started when Figo "headbutted" Van Bommel lightly, and than Van Bommell took 2 seconds, realized he's a f*cking douchebag, and went down. After that, Figo was only bringing himself down to the level of the the Dutch. Boulahrouz did elbow him, and Figo probably embelished it, but an elbow is still a yellow. Deco's sending off would usually be a very stupid call, but FIFA has clearly told the refs to make these calls, so really Deco had only himself to blame although these players used to played in quality refs in Europe arent used to this.
Costinha is a total moron. I think Scolari wouldve probably subbed him off at half time. He wont be missed against England, Petit is a better player anyways. Maniche's goal was class, finally a nice goal at this tourney that wasnt scored from 40 metres away, and was effected by the lightness of these balls.
Anyways, Im glad Portugal advanced instead of Holland, and if England continues playing as pathetic as they have been, I think Portugal has a good chance at making final 4. I love how all the Dutch think England will destroy Portuguese,,, have you guys not seen any of their games???
