Knowing Rooneys charachter he wont let it go for a long time and rightly so. I used to defend Ronaldo because i'm a utd supporter. I cant defend that behaviour at all. Like i said whats kool in Portugal is not here. England may be physical. But they thrive on fair play. For some wierd reason they seem to be the only team in the world that tries their hardest to play fair. Its time to play people at their own game.

The referee was responsible. Rooney took 7 fouls before the referee blew. Then Ronaldo came over to get him sent off. Rooney reacted and got sent off. Neville told him (ronaldo) to go away and rightly so. He (ronaldo) shouldnt have got involved. It had nothing to do with Ronaldo.
What pains me is why England supporters are shocked. They should come to expect unsporting play from the Portugese and many others including Argentina. Its normal to them. It happens all the time.
Porto and Benfica are perfect examples. England fans should know these things.

red card was absolute garbage. question is, did rooney get the red for the push, or did he get the red for the stomp? the stomp would make more sense, but i dont think the ref saw it. although rooney was not really doing much. real tough decision for the english to swallow.
the hand ball in the box was debateable but i agree with the decision of the ref.
end of the story is no one took their chances, which led to the penalty shoot out, and ricardo was huge. both set of shooters were garbage, except for the few.

One thing I have to admit is that Steven Gerrard played like 
throughout the World Cup. He wasn't even a shadow of his Liverpool self...he was nothing more than . Atleast Lampard got all those chances...Gerrard barely created anything for himself! I was expecting so much more from him and really felt that he more than maybe any other player could influence England. But the guy played like . He doesn't deserve the captaincy..give it to Terry!

Your jumping the gun a bit. The replay shows the referee only reacted when Rooney pushed Ronaldo. Why did Ronaldo get pushed??? Because he was trying to convince the referee to send Rooney off. The replay shows. And your trying to defend that behaviour. Embarrassing.
