You guys may be right about Lippi's selection, but Italy is just going through a mediocre phase right now. It's no wonder the strongest Italian team, Inter, isn't represented in the Italian NT and are filled with foreigners. Cassano and Miccoli are at mediocre teams for a reason, although they may be better than what we have now. It's too late anyway.

It would be interesting if both PAR-NZL and ITA-SVK game ends with draw and same score, then Italy and New Zealand will decide qualifying to next round by coin toss. :P Who will cry though?

Btw, Wellington Pheonix is now playing in A-League, and is New Zealand's own football league professionalized or not?

Juventino does make a good point, however, that Italy just isn't producing the players it used to and he isn't making any excuses when he says that the pool of players Lippi has to choose from is not as talented as ones in the past. He's hardly blinded by his support for Juventus, actually he speaks the truth, Italian players are just not as talented as one's from the past.

wow. I hate this kind of referee. He looks at Ivory Coast and Brazil and see: the ivory coast players are bigger, therefore any ball stole from Brazil is therefore a foul.

Vintage Brazil.

I think together with Argentina the most impressive team of all the favorites in the World Cup so far. They had a hard time against the defensive and tough North Koreans, but they're dominating now against a good side.

I knew that Ivory Coast should have never changed their coach. They were too desperate after the disappointing African Cup of Nations and took a risk in order to "secure" the World Cup and give more chance to the team but all they did was to remove all chances for the team. Well, it's not over yet but a point against Brazil would've helped them a lot.

They've been grinding teams out like this for the better part of three years....its amazing to me really European style...they look more like the vintage Germany than Brazil, but in the tournaments is paying dividends for them
