nah dont start pauleta...he has done really nothing the last 2 games...he only gets 1 really good chance and misses...time 2 give nuno gomes some playing time...if nuno starts ull see him score a goal

For those who are betting, this match may have some importance but for those who are not, this match is indeed insignificant.
But still the teams would be competing at least for pride. Germany is a bit depleted so Portugal may just have a chance of an upset...

Borowski, Mertesacker, Friedrich, Ballack are injured. Lehmann agreed to give his place to Kahn, as he wants to thank him for his support thoroughout the tournament. Great move by Kahn before Argentina Penalty Shoot, great move by Lehmann now. We have a good team and Germany will do a lot to win this. Jansen I think is a really really good young player, he's from German U-20 team and a strong outside player, his body looks more like that of a defensive midfielder.
Huth is a real butcher and Figo, Pauleta, C. Ronaldo are really in danger I think;). Well, he'll have a nice return to Chelsea/Middlesborough then*g*.

German Team will celebrate tomorrow at 12 o' clock on Fifa Fan Mile in Berlin. Will be a biiiig Party.

Why's everyone so down on this game. Its actually more important than you think, if by sheer, and completely unforeseen, coincidence a tragic and horrific accident was to take place and all the French and Italian players were to be shockingly gunned down or hacked to death. Then that would mean that the winner of this match would be crowned as the WC2006 champion.

But that aside, this game should be a much more lively affair than the final tomorrow, since both teams have nothing to lose. And if i'm not mistaken 3rd place is the best result Portugal have achieved in a world cup, back in 1966, it wouldn't be such a bad thing for them if 40 years later their golden generation manage to at least match that.

dude the so called "golden generation" ended in 2002. Most of the players have already retired from the NT or the game altogether.

Only Figo is still there from that generation and he's retiring tonight.

Why can't Portugal play such lovely football all the time. Very good game so far. Both teams look pissed at not being in the finals, especially the Germans, they set the frantic pace early in this match.
