Wayne Rooney to miss World Cup?

Its sad for the football fans. He was playing amazing.

But i think it was karma, Rooney made a bad tackle to Terry and Drogba... :boohoo:

England doesnt have another player with the same offensive power as Rooney, but they still can win the WC, becouse its all about a good defense...mantain the 0 in your side and score one header with that tall player that tries to play football, the old english style.

I think Mascherano had the same injury, in september of 2005, he returned early this month....

If I were Sven, I'd still take him and try to play him in the 2nd round or the quarterfinals/semis if England make it there.

i think it's a risk use a spot of the 23 with a player with no garantees that will recover. it's better call another striker.

:( Nah man....Rooney is just too important, too much class to not be involved in the World Cup. He needs to be on the big stage and I can't imagine him having to wait 4 years to get another World Cup chance. I hope England battle through and let him play in a semi or quarterfinal.

now now, it seems like you've already forgot about the gibson miracle. it was in the 90s!

That could work well, people forget what a good passer Crouch is.

Spain never win owt, anyway. Personally, a World Cup without Rooney and Owen is a good thing. It gives fringe players a proper chance to prove themselves in a competitive international tournament.

In all honesty, at full strength, I'd never have us down as winners.

Bent's a definite, now.

Well England's chances just got a hammering... He was the one man that could've win it for them...

Reckon Sven should take Rooney there.... just in case he recovers sooner than expected and be able to play a part in the later parts of the WC...

Wrong. If you're good enough to make it there without him you don't want to screw up team chemistry by trying to rehab Rooney for 90 minutes in the most important game of these guys lives.

I doubt Sven will name Rooney in the squad at all.

It's no good trying to bring back unfit players during the competition.

Clubs need to start looking at these crap boots that players are wearing now. They might feel like you are wearing a pair of slippers but they offer no protection to the feet at all. How many metatarsal injuries has football had to witness since the boot design has "progressed"? This was the first time that Rooney had played in these Nike pieces of s.h.it. He got them on Tuesday amid the whole Nike advertising circus, and 4 days later breaks his toe. The boots must be a factor.

I think all players should go back to these little darlings
