I agree Casillas should be there instead of Buffon, every time i watch Madrid he is amazing... But it's ok, Buffon deserves it too...

Only Miguel should be there instead of Cafu IMO, but not a big deal too...

Whats wrong with fans? Zambrotta is the best LB in the world, hands down. Maybe Juve and Italy didnt put in top notch performances, but Zambrotta did ALL THE TIME. Im embarassed to be labelled a football fan.

Considering Greece winning Euro 2004 was the biggest upset of all time, and tactics were the main reason, its a no brainer Rehaggel should win coach. Mourinho did great things for Porto but NT always means more than club. Why do you think Ronaldo won all those accolades in 2002 when he didnt do sh*t for club. Everyone so bitter about Rehaggel/Greece.


Oh, and Santino, to answer your question of 'who thinks Cole's better than Zambrotta!?!?'. The fans have spoken.

He has improved on this immensly this year.

I have seen every match and I can't remember him making this kind of mistake this year.

I mean, I respect your guys' opinions, but just watch Casillas.

Watch him from now until the end of the year. I guarantee you will change your mind.

In some of the matches this year, I have seen Buffon make mistakes. One of the things I see the most is deflections from saves that go tou the opposing player which can cause easy goals for the opposition.


Also, I think Vicente should have been chosen over Nedved.

Vicente was the best LM in the world last year, not to mention his Valencia won La Liga and Uefa Cup.

Nikopilidis was better than buffon and casillas, some of the things he did this year were like next to impossible. Overall not a bad list.

I do think Buffon, right now, is better than Casillas. By the time Casillas is the age Buffon is right now, he will be much better. I agree with you man, Casillas is awewsome, and he is soo young :o

i've only seen him play for greece he is good but better than buffon and last year may be a bit of a stretch

Casillas my ass. Buffon is just 3 years older but so much better.

Buffon > Dida > Casillas.

Like Vince said, Buffon gets fewer opportunities to shine with Cannavaro, Thuram and Zambrotta in front of him. Casillas gets a lot of action due to the stupid ass Salgados in front of him.

See the Buffon compilation thats floating around... simply astounding.

Not only is Buffon a better shotstopper than Iker but hes also a much more intimidating presence in front of goal than Casillas. Thats a very important quality for a goalkeeper to possess. Just ask Kahn.

Its just that you Madrid fans think that Casillas is better because hes saved your asses on so many occasions. Buffon has done so as well but he doesn't get as many chances.

I think when picking teams like "Best of" it should be a flat 4-4-2 because it is more flexible. Say I would of put Deco ahead of Maniche in the midfielder roll because he was one of the class midfielders but when you make the MC a defensive minded player like that, I would of given it to Gerrard.

Why is it? Cole was just as consistent and reliable as Zambrotta throughout 2004. Certainly not ludicrous.

All the people who watch the English league will say Cole is better, everyone who watches the Italian league will say Zambrotta is better. To be honest you can't expect to find an unbiased opinion of the two because the two camps simply don't watch enough of the other. Either way, there isn't a single left back better than these two at the moment (and they're better than Roberto Carlos in his prime).
