Cleverley, Wilshere, Rodwell etc you name it. None of these kids seem to be the playmaker type which I think is crucial for any team to have in the modern game.

I thought Oxlaide-Chamberlain could have given a lot more than Theo, but in the end Italy was a lot better. Can't really complain about the result. Just sucked in the Three Lions Pub as the one gay ass Italian family with grandmas and **** celebrated today while all of us in England jerseys (everyone except me being an ex pat) were like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. But in the end, all the English people I talked to were like "yeah, we knew it was gonna happen".

And it's true. There was so much confidence and singing for 2+ hours, and then when it officially went to penalties the entire ex pat crowd around me got terrified.

It seems kind of strange and ironic that the tournament's most entertaining match thus far is also the tournament's only 0-0 match thus far.

Been a pretty predictable tournament so far (with maybe us going out with zero points as the exception :-( ).

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
Hahahaha WTF? (H)

Then again, from that distance, it would probably look like a vagina anyways.

English fans must have heard the rumor that Italy has some gay players in their squad. None missed... except Montolivo. (H)

What a hero. Shame it was a small caucasian penis. If John Barnes had been in the crowd he could have saved it himself...

Buffon threw away the "research" from the GK coach just before the penalties. Hart was taking advice from left and right. shows how much instinct really means in moments like that.

There was a comment from a commentator who said something along the lines of Joe Hart had been watching videos of Italy's penalties while Buffon said he preferred to just watch naughty videos instead.

match should have been buried time and again, well before extra time ...

but the real point is that I've never seen a more pathetic display from an "elite" national team than what England just produced ... can't imagine how embarrassing it must be to be an English football supporter right now ... :-D
Why should it be embarrassing? We know our weaknesses and tried to compensate by doing what we were capable of. Sitting deep and relying on a few chances that always come our way. It's a lot better than going into a match with the belief that we're an outstanding attacking force and losing 3-0. It even almost worked.
hoping for some scraps and trying to grasp at them? like a beggar? that's not embarrassing to you? have some dignity for god's sake ... what happened to the having the stars of the best teams of the best league? (H)
I'm being realistic. How else would England have done it?
And it has nothing to do with dignity. We might have one or two players in our squad who could be termed 'stars', as you might have noticed when we subbed Henderson on.
don't know if you saw the PM I sent you during my banishment ... in any case: dude, fair play to you then; my comments aren't aimed at people like you, who are rational, but rather at the morons who think England are an elite force, and that they are comprised of stars because the ads on TV said so -- which, from my experience, is the majority of English football fans ...

4 best teams of the tournament in semifinals. Thats weird
Portugal has not been one of the 4 best teams of the tournament. They have just been the luckiest. They are going to get smashed by Spain.

I agree with Arnau.

I don't think this is a great Italy team, but you guys seem to thrive when the odds are against you. Now, in 2006 I thought you were a really good team, not a fluke via an easy draw, but you have a chance to prove the same thing in a few days against Germany. I will say one thing, Germany concede a LOT of goals, and Italy might not be as talented, but they can DEFINITELY beat Germany (as usual... unfortunately). Don't think you can beat Spain, but Germany can be careless, and Italy are the kind of team to exploit that.

Don't worry, he's saying that just to anti-jinx himself.

I mean, Sir_Didier_Drogba's strategy was terrible, he placed a massive jinx on England with his proclamations. He would still have been fine even given this but the Lee effect was too strong and his support of England finalized the result.
