It's heavy by Sweden who have four(!!) teams in 1st round. Norway lost Lillestrøm in 1st qualifyround, and Fredrikstad at injury time in 2nd qualifyround.
Denmark got also four teams.

good thing for Romania, seeing as Germany and Portugal are the main contenders for the 5 spot in the coefficient 4 of their teams have been drawn against eachother meaning that after this round two teams from those nations will be out

Well in that case go Leiria and Belenenses (jk , they will be crushed)

Otelul f*cked us over this season by getting a spot from the Intertoto Cup where they played s*it teams and I was honestly stunned that CFR Cluj didn't advance, they are a quality side but they looked at that Cypriot team from above and got their asses kicked on three counter attack goals in the first leg and that was the story of the tie. They'll be back next season though. Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid will once again carry the burden.

Im looking forward to see some real football soon. UEFA Cup 1st Round will be a exciting round with many known clubs like Bayern, Tottenham and Everton.

Has anybody seen Platini's proposal for the UEFA Cup starting in the 2009 season?

UEFA Cup
The proposed new UEFA Cup format for 2009-12 features a group stage involving 48 teams - the title-holders, ten teams from the UEFA Champions League qualifying phase and 37 teams from the UEFA Cup qualifying phase. These 48 teams would be divided into 12 groups of four teams playing six matches on a home-and-away basis. The group-winners and runners-up would go into the knock-out stage and would be joined by eight teams who finished third in their groups in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

That would kick-ass . I find the current groupstage to be pretty pointless and really not very well organized, his proposal would make it very similar to the CL and would allow smaller teams to gain valuable experience in Europe. I hope it passes

Yeah. The new format will be much much better than todays. Unfortunately for me, Vålerenga will not qualify to UEFA Cup in some years.

Those results coupled with Steaua's loss is probably the worst week Romania has had in a few years.

Michael Bradley scored twice today for Heerenveen
