I didn't see anyone saying that. I expected Inter to go for the win in Milan, but now that they're in the Camp Nou with a two goal advantage, I fully expect Mourinho to park the bus like he did with Chelsea. I'm also expecting lots of fouls.MaestroZidane;2857206 said:isn't that what some guys were saying before tuesdays match?? Xifio;2857251 said:I honestly don't think it matters what Mourinho tries to do ... what I want to see is Barcelona come out with the intensity and intent of champions hungry to defend their crown ... that was severely lacking in the first leg ... if Inter commit a lot of fouls, then so be it; but no matter how that goes, Barça cannot let their attitude drop ... the defeat in the first leg came because the players were defeated mentally when they allowed themselves to get frustrated ... the checklist for the 2nd leg is simple: don't get frustrated (no matter what the ref or the opposition tries to do), keep focussed on the objective, play with intensity and intent; if we do all that, I'm sure we can win 2-0 ...
Pep has the world's best players, but if those players do it on the field, you'll have more respect for Guardiola? uh, would you mind explaining your reasoning?Nady;2857529 said:Inter parking the bus shouldn't be a problem if Guarduola is such a good manager and has the world's best players in his team. If Guardiola manages to get through I'll have more respect for him.
I support Barcelona (notice who created the 2009/10 Barça thread), and I will support them as long as the club's philosophy of the football (not the political bullsh!t) stays as it is ...Nady;2857529 said:Curiously, since you support both teams, which team would rather see in the final?

usually yes, but don't forget that, unlike most other teams, Barcelona's main "tactic" adopts Michels'/Cruyff's total football tactic as a club policy, which means that regardless of the manager in charge of the team, you will see Barcelona aiming to keep majority of the possession, and try to carve open the opponent with precision passing, mostly along the ground ... but Guardiola is a terrific motivator, and I think a pumped up Barça playing to their potential will be enough to get a 2-0 result in front of a full house Camp Nou ...Nady;2857648 said:You can have good players but you need tactics to win games like these and tactics obviously come from the manager.
Cheslea "parked the bus" at the Camp Nou, not at Stamford Bridge ... and at the Camp Nou, there were no goals ...Nady;2857650 said:Remember Barca vs Chelsea last season? Barca couldn't get a single shot on goal other than that goal.
nah, no need for another approach ... people have criticized Barça for having no real "Plan B", but I think there is no need for a "Plan B", as much as there is a need for a "Plan A.1", Plan A.2", "Plan A.3", etc. ... by that I mean: Barça doesn't need to change what they want to do, but rather how they deal with the opposition's tactics so that the team can continue to keep possession in attacking areas, and can precision pass their way to goals ...Nady;2857650 said:In games like that, Total Football might not be the most effective tactic... Guardiola will have to look for other tactics IF suppose Inter goes all for defence like what Chelsea did.
yeah, he is the best, and I think I have made that clear in my posts (in the past, and even this season) ... I like Mourinho's tactical intelligence, but that doesn't mean he doesn't make mistakes, or is unbeatable ... that is why I think the motivation will be key ... Mourinho has instilled a self-confidence and fiery belief in his troops ... they didn't look at all fazed when they went behind in the 1st leg, which is why they came back so strong ... Barcelona, for their part, grew frustrated in the match, and did not play with anywhere near the intensity they needed to show ... couple those together, and that is why Inter won the match with the comfortable margin of victory ... in the second leg, if Barcelona can be more hungry, play with more intensity, and [most importantly] let no frustration creep into their game, the match and the tie will be won ...Nady;2857650 said:And don't forget its Mourinho we're talking about! This guy knows everything about tactics.
