Hey, let me preface this by saying that I know next to nothing about Benfica's situation right now Like what formation or players the coach prefers, who's playing where and why and all that other ****.


Miccoli belongs in the middle of the pitch........just below the striker(s). That dude would give you guys more productivity if he was given the freedom to roam and get to start as a creative midfielder.

Yes they outplayed and dominated but what did you expect? Its funny we are in very **** form and they are in great form, they are playing at home, they have the ref on their side, they have 11 players, and still dont score:fool: The most they did was long shots which were really not hard for Casillas. VB and Larsson only had the clear chances. I would laugh my ass of if they went out like that. I think what everyone is trying to tell you is that Benfica has a shot of making it even if its slim.

Before the first leg, I would have accepted a defeat by a one goal margin. In fact, I even hoped we'd go down only with a result of 2-1 or even better 3-2. I really believed Benfica would win, not only because we were missing some crucial players, but because I thought of Benfica to be very strong.
Then I saw Barca miss chances that I would score. That wasn't the Benfica I expected and I realized that I had overrated them. We should have won like 1-5 or something.
Now the match is on OUR ground, in front of the Barca crowd, and if anyone says Barca is going through, there's a 99% chance that they're right. No one is being arrogant, even if they predict a 5-0 scoreline, simply because Barcelona is that much better, which we witnessed already. We were unlucky in the first leg, and don't even think of mentioning the uncalled penalty because if things had gone as they should have, we would have been in the semis before half time of the Luz match.
I admit I haven't seen that much of Benfica in the CL to talk about lineups and stuff, but I do know Barca will outclass them again.
And you can't change that.

Plus, it's funny to see people arguing how Benfica eliminated United and Pool. It's laughable to compare them to Barcelona.

If I'm being arrogant, I don't care. But I'm not.

Save what the truth? You outplayed us at Now Camp and still did not score, the league was well over before that game, Valencia could finish above us or they could not. Juve got beat by Arsenal 2-0...I wonder what that makes them? I never said you were bad infact I said you were in great form and still managed to not score.

Yep, we shouldn´t compare them , they have far more tradition and historial in the Champions League than Barcelona.
Maybe we can have a repeat of the 1961 final in Bern. My prediction 1-1 (Deco and Miccoli).

In the second half at Da Luz we played much better than in the first, and we were superior in some parts of the half. So if we enter concentrated, with no fears and if we play like we did in the second half we definitely have a chance of not be out played, it's not a f*cking fat you will outclass us, anything can happen, that's what we're trying to say.

We know you're a better team, you have better players and sh*t, we know all that... We're just saying it will not be that easy, want a f*cking picture?

I agree, arrogance at its best coming from both sides in this thread, with some exceptions of course.

Listen, I respect Barcelona as the great team they are, they have terrific players, etc. But I think Barcelona doesn't defend aswell as attack. This is my opinion, I'm not trying to impose this. Puyol is the leader, a great leader indeed, but sometimes the rest of the back-four don't follow him. And that's what Benfica can explore, especially with our biggest weapon: counter-attack.

But I'm gonna be with my heart on my hands everytime the ball goes even near the box, with our "goalkeeper" in such form :rolleyes: I want him to prove me wrong, but he hasn't done that so far...

I'm didn't say people who think Barcelona will pass are ignorant. I said most people, as the public opinion, in general, thinks like that, and I think do think the public opinion is based on ignorance (in every sector of society). It's not in the bag for Barça. But lets wait for the kick-off, shall we... Football is played on the pitch ;)

man, now that I think about it, I really want Barça to win

If Benfica wins, no one will ever be able to talk football with them again! If they still throw a Champions Cup from 40 years ago in your face, imagine if they go through now...(H)
