Haha, neither ManU nor Liverpool are nearly as good as Barcelona. The only way Barca will lose is if they completely choke or if the game gets thrown out of whack by red cards or whatnot. I can tell you that they will not play lazily. They know they have to prove themselves because they've had trouble scoring in their past couple of matches when they could have scored many.3m1n3m said:One thing is for sure: the pressure is all on Barça. If Barcelona wins, it'll be something people would face naturally. Benfica not passing to most (ignorant and media-follower) people would be the natural course of the Champions League.
The real upset would be Benfica knocking out Barcelona. Maybe Man United and Liverpool weren't enough to warn the always-cocky Spanish people of Portugal's true potential. And I wish that from the very bottom of my heart. Not only because I'm 200% Benfiquista, but I'm also Portuguese, and they insist in making this personal. Just like in Euro 2004 Too bad there's no Nuno Gomes. We have to stick with Miccoli... bollocks... (yes I'm being sarcastic).
1-0 Eto'o in the first half
1-1 Miccoli in the dying minutes of the game
Deeply painful for them, tasteful for us. Like always
Haha, don't tell me what Barcelona is and what it isn't. I've seen more of their matches this year than of any other team. If anything Barcelona proves that football isn't played with names, that's why they're so much better than Real Madrid. It's the team's system that makes them so successful and all of their "big names" made names for themselves at Barca. The only exception that I can think of is Larsson.3m1n3m said:Sevillista: Barcelona isn't what most people think they are. Football isn't played with names, and Benfica has shown that already this season. And if you think Barcelona would only lose is if they get red-carded or choke, you haven't seen Benfica play this season in the CL more than the highlights of a few matches. Sorry but you can't be talking with full knowledge to say such thing.
Barcelona are favourites and are a better team and have a better squad. It's up to them to take the game. But Benfica is also good, and a team doesn't lose just because the other chokes. A team can just be better than another.
Sevillista said:Still, I haven't seen anything that makes me think they could play better than Barca.
Maybe you're too arrogant and you can't accept the truth. The truth is Barça are clear favorites against Benfica at Camp Nou. Barça not going through would be an upset since Barça are favorites, not only to beat benfica but to win the whole thing, alongside Juve(well, now it's Arsenal), Lyon and Milan. I think here people respect Benfica. Benfica do have a chance, but we all think that Barça are much better team and I don't think that's being an ignorant or arrogant.3m1n3m said:One thing is for sure: the pressure is all on Barça. Sevillista said:Haha, funny to see so many people picking Benfica. I think their only chance is if Barca screw up 20 shots on goal like they did their past couple of games. I predict a blowout, 4-1.
Haha, actually I did. I saw thirty-some shots on goal to their opponent's 3. Unfortunately, they choked and didn't put any of those in the net. Nobody in their right mind would say that Barca didn't outplay Madrid. Barca will outplay Benfica, guaranteed. What I am not guaranteeing is that it will translate into a winning result. This is football and the best team doesn't always win.Callum said:Did you see anything in real madrid that made you think they can play better than barca? Because I believe they drew 1-1 with them, with 10 men, and that would be a good result for benfica.... Point is, you dont know what is gonna happen, a lot of people thought benfica was a joke vs man u, then vs liverpool, but they won, and I have a lot of respect for them to be honest because they are always being shot down in the CL as the easy team to get.
