finally someone mentions that they just got him for marketing appeal in usa

same with how they're tring to buy that chinese guy....


barthez still plays with france - who many see as the best team in the world, yet he is out as manchester united see a few million pounds as more important than a few premiership oints which they shall lose by having howard instead of barthez


we will see in the champions league's later stages how howard handles the pressure then see how he crumbles, bringing barthez back into squad to fix up the problem

i might not like italy, however the fact that howard can even be compared to buffon........ it really is amazing how far EA go to make their game more appealing to little US gamers who consider their national team to be right up there

in another forum they were even saying that the USA are better than Holland and Germany - US fans just need to get over how easy their world cup qualification path is and play a friendly against a team as underrated as Australia who are far stronger individually and overall

If I hear one more thing about Freddy Adu I will just scream!!!! he isn't even really american is he???? lol

Nobody Stateside, other than those of us who follow MLS, has any idea who Tim Howard is or that he's starting for Manchester United.

There isn't a place in this entire city I can go and buy a Tim Howard Man Utd jersey.

The Chinese follow their soccer heroes and can be dooped into buying merchandise. America doesn't even follow the sport in the first place.

Ferguson got him because he has the ability.

If not, you still can't explain how he beat out Barthez.

Just yesterday, Tim Howard made some pertty good saves to keep Man U in teh game. While personally I enjoy watching Barthez, I cannot deny that Howard is more solid..... although I'd like to see Barthez play more though.

The idea that Man U. got Tim Howard for American money is ridiculous. 9 out of 10 Americans don't like soccer or even know that Man U. exists. As far as Howard's rating as a GK, I'd give him about a 72 out of 100 for solid performance in MLS and EPL. Regarding your specific comment that he couldn't have improved that much, the reason EA increased his stats is because of transfer to Man U.. He was just as good before, but MLS players get very low ratings. In 2003 DaMarcus Beasley got a 50 something. That would make him comparable to bad players on Swiss sides. I don't think I'm out of line in saying he's better then that.

Howard is good not great, EA is a group of British *** kissers.

Howard is at Man U because one of their scouts saw him play against Mexico earlier this year. So they took a look, got some tape of him playing, and signed him. He is holding his own in the EPL, has a ton of shutouts, and doesn't fumble with the ball like Barthex did. Maybe you missed Howard today dribbling through two players in his goalie box.

Who cares if Barthez still plays for France. Name me one other French goalkeeper. Exactly.

France the best team in the world? Man they sure showed it at the world cup while the USA was going to the Quarterfinals. Sorry, but the US qualification for the world cup is NOT easy. Every time they go to a central american country they get every call called against them, bottles of piss thrown at them, and some really nasty fouls that go uncalled. It's a dirty game down there, but it is not easy. Remember, they qualified in 3rd place last time out.

USA better than Holland or Germany? Nah, but the USA got to the world cup and Holland didn't. Enough said.

but seriously, the best keeper in the world, ITALY's No1, europes most valuable player GG Buffon has got to be the most underated, he should be 90+, the goalies should have a completely different rating system, coz the loose out on strike and other bull they dun even use

tim howard is a great goalie...he has potential and he has proven that so don`t piss on him!
