What about Deco? Nobody talks about him.. He won the portuguese league, portuguese supercup, the Champions League and he lead Portugal to the 2nd place in the Euro... It should've been his prize.
Henry is a great player but what has he done outside the Premiership? Nothin'...
Ronaldinho, yeah, awsome player, but Barcelona didn't win nothing, placed 2nd in the spanish league and was eliminated in the Uefa Cup...
Now Shevchenko has had a great year. The competition should be between him and Deco...

Im nominating Amadeo Carboni for the award. He won La Liga and Uefa Cup last season. He happend to be on that team, and im very biased, so i think he should win it, even though he didnt really standout more than anyone else on his team, and his teams triumphs were more of a TEAM effort, rather than one man pretty much carrying team (Ronaldinho) and winning games on his own (Sheva)

It's funny like some people don't respect other peoples opinion... well, not funny, it's sad...
Okay, the award decision is between Ronaldinho, Shevchenko and Henry. I just don't agree with the nomenies. Since Beckham (never has been a great player) placed 2 times in 2nd in this FIFA award that I don't give it any credit.
Ronaldinho's a great player, but Deco played better this year, was more effective and decisive. And Ronaldinho is more a performer.
If the award was to premiate the best player, and not the one who had made the better performance through the season, Zidane would win it every single year!
Henry, despite scoring amazing goals in the FA Premier League, just isn't the same when he plays in Europe or in the french NT.
From this 3, Shevchenko is the only one that's really worthy of the prize. Despite not being present in the EURO he carried Milan through the Italian league and through CL semi-finals.
I think I have the right to disagree with the choises, no?
The player who I think worths the award is Shevchenko, but I think that Ronaldinho's gonna win it, because he's brazilian and has more charisma. And we know how people just love brazilian players!
PS: And for you guys that say that Deco isn't a great player, I advise you to see the Barcelona games, and Portugal's last game against Russia... Try to see how many kidneys has he broke!

it's because about half of this thread was about why deco's not there......your too late and missed the argument about it, and when it was coming to a clsoe u came and brought up deco....had u thread a couple pages of the thread, u would have realized that everything u said about deco, was said over and over again

Ronaldinho also didn't go to the Copa which slightly lowered his ratings maybe.
My personal choice though? Ronaldinho. He's been strong this season with Barca leading them to be one of the best teams in Europe.
Henry and Shev are good but they aren't the full package that Ronaldinho is.

Shevchenko has been doing a good job with Ukraine, plus they're leading their group if i'm not mistaken. Sheva is going to play WC 2006 if everything goes to plan. And people who say Henry shouldnt win because he performs badly for France, please remember that Ronaldinho Gaúcho does **** for our NT aswell.

That's true...in my opinion Ricardo Carvalho was the most influential player last season both in club and country. And the MVP of the whole CL... but defenders don't win these awards....
