Well i remember hearing this like in 7th grade, but i wasn't really paying attention and forgot the facts about this myth.
Well I'm currently taking a class in a community college, its called Chicano Studies 141A and it's basically the history of Mexican civilazation. Before the Aztects there were the Maya, who were not as powerfull as the Aztecs militarily or economically but were the most advanced when it came to science, mathematics, and astronomy. The Maya have predicted every single astronomical event since they dissapeared mysteriously. During their peak of civilization they came up with a system that predicted all the full moons, eclipses ect. and is still believe to be the most accurate ever only being off by 33 seconds. When London and Paris were only small towns with dirt roads, the Mayan civilization was the most powerful in the world.
Why is this important? Well, since they've predicted every single astronomical event it cought my attention when they stated that the world would end...December 23rd, 2012. They have a lot of credibily which is what scares me the most but hopefully they were drunk (which they loved to do) when they predicted this.
...so there you have it, i'm sure u guys have some comments about this, anybody heard of this?
