The Wolf FM2005 Option File Update

I'm also a sucker for classic players.:crazyboy: I like to make a sort of classic club team in ML. I have Stoichkov, Maradona, Koeman, Guardiola and Schuster in my current Barca side and looking forward to aquire some more stars of the past like Figo and Rivaldo. I would grately appriciate if there would be no aging of players and classic players would appear with their default stats. Guardiola really sucks as a youngster.:(

True but the computer normally interchanges any of those positions in the game anyway so if your SMF player is banned or injured, the computer will automatically select a WF or OMF to take their place. Unless a player is a DMF, the computer pretty much treats all midfield players the same in selecting the squad with higher stats being the only real swing in favor of one player over another. If you highlight a OMF to sub, quite often if a player's offensive stats are high enough, the computer will highlight SMF and WF as sub options anyway so I'm not too fussed about the conversion of these. When it comes to your own squad you choose who you want to play where anyway.

Regarding the lack of stats for some players, that's understandable but it's better than some of the way off ones they have for even quite well known players at the moment. Having llooked at about 500 players so far it's amazing (or confusing) on how Konami came up with some of these stats. I genuinely think they totally guessed on many players - they certainly did with the ages for a lot of teams! It should make a difference if you have Henry or Figo in your team but at the moment, they've overated so many mediocre players that having a genuine world star makes little difference much of the time. I'm not looking to have a new option file with supermen but just the stats as more qualified researchers doing the FM/CM series see them. Some of the stats for my fave players have gone down a little but looking at them I agree with it. they seem to be rated at their prime, not where they're at now. Giggs is still rated in PES4 like he's still playing at his best at like age 25 or something when in reality he's slower and doesn't make such an impact on the game. Nistelrooy may score a lot of goals but in real life he hasn't got the speed of Henry or even close to it but in the game he's not too far behind speed wise. Really he's a master of positioning with great techniqure, he's not an awesome dribbler of the ball.

I think overall this will be a far more lifelike representation of the players.

One thing i would recommend is to keep the Star-abilities as is, and not use what the converters put out. This is because these converters tend to put the same star abilities for everyone, with a lot of them never being used at all. PLus, it gives the game more variety and balance.

Also, like another person mentioned, try to revert the positions a player can play to the original ones. The reason is, though i'm not sure, is if a player is playing out of position (a positions he doesnt have a star) his stats may decrease. Im not sure about all stats, but things like positioning, teamwork, etc would probably be less.

Well, got Wolf 3 working and can't see me showering, eating, working, etc for the next long while. I haven't put my pants on since I hooked it up...:o

Wolf i totally agree with you, also the stats of the players from the teams of Argentina, Boca and River are a completely mess, and players like Tevez, Palermo and Guillermo Barros Shelotto have low stats, the same in River like Lucho Gonzalez and Mascherano. I think Konami don´t take care about Argentinian football, but all PES gamers have people like you that makes great job and could fix these to made the game real. Thanks.

why not just make some way of everyone contribute with changes to the players ?

everyone here knows about his team and his players.

i suppose that in each country there is a editing team ( i know in portugal there is a team that does good patchs ) .

maybe each country would be responsable for editing its team on the game.

this not only would close represent its stats , but also , faces and kits and everything ( in FC Porto , there are some players that really dont like the real ones )

also , about the FM converter ... maybe the solution is to improve the FM converter program.

with better programs and a wider community helping , we could make the perfect database ( that could also be used on pes5 and etc ... maybe even konami could have a hint or two )

PS : really hate classic teams and classic players on the master league.

PS 2 : wolf thanx for all the work ( wolf and all the other patchers )

Agree, Im pretty sure a lot of the players have been made up, there are Charlton players on the game that have barely played for the reserves IRL. Really doesn't make sense having players like Giggs on the game in their prime and not how good they are. I see what your mean about overating mediocre players - Matt Holland having 88 for shot power (which isn't in FM, how does the converter work this out?).

What actually are you going to do about players with no stats in FM?

Wolf, won't this affect online play? If I understand it correctly, the changes to the stats are made within the .exe, but if, for instance, I play with a different .exe than my opponent, he could get certain benefits from his .exe and I could get some from mine (and we thus won't have the same benefits / disadvantages).

Or am I talking jibberish here? :)

I like what you are doing !!

i do sometimes feel that all the players in a good club are the same, there should only be a few stars...

excellent, keep up the good work

Yes most players are in FM, but some don't have any (or many) attributes (they are random in the game), eg Jerome Thomas at Charlton as he didn't play in the first team until after the research had finished. You can't convert loads of 0's can you?

Yes thats what he has in the database. He isn't a great finisher, but he is still an amazing player in FM. Finishing especially on FM isn't the only important attribute.

There is a CM4 database update called the Calcio update that has pretty much done most of the reserves/'B'-teams in the Premiership so I'm going to tkae the stats from there. Where I can't find anything for a player, I'll just leave the default Konami stats but so far that's only been about 2 or 3 out of the 2,000 I've converted so far.
