If a hattrick (almost) doesn't get Trezeguet into the best 11, I don't know what will.

Yeah i know Juve's 4th goal was ruled as an own goal (and rightly so) but even so, it was all Trez.

and its shocking to see Cassano in there. Ok he scored the goal but played very poorly along with the rest of Roma.

Pirlo never scored like Santino said and was kept quiet by the Inter midfield. What kind of a moron makes mistakes like these ?

Fiore deserves to be part of the Azzurri squad. NOT.

Veron made the 11 but Figo and Cambiasso didn't. Bullsh*t.

Julio Cesar ? What exactly did he do ? He let in 2 goals. Hardly had much else to do. Was completely beaten with Kaka's deflected shot and only the post saved him and Inter. Milan hardly made him work. Either they completely missed the terget or scored.

Overall. Goal.com can suck my nuts. Once again.
agreed with all except i wouldn't mind seeing fiore in the azzurri squad

Cicinho reveals Viola option

Fiorentina are on course to give their Champions League qualification hopes a boost with the arrival of Sao Paulo defender Cicinho, the player has revealed.

After finally securing an Italian passport last month, Cicinho signed a drawn-out five-year deal to join erstwhile Real Coach and fellow Brazilian Vanderlei Luxembourgo at Los Meringues.

However, with dramatic changes afoot at the Bernebeu since the recent sacking of Luxembourgo and the imminent departure of technical director Arrigo Sacchi, it seems that Real have been in talks with the Viola with a view to loaning their new acquisition to the Tuscan side as soon as he arrives in Spain this January.

"Fiorentina have contacted Real Madrid," said the full-back, speaking in Tokyo, where he is due to play in the FIFA World Club Championship tomorrow.

"I would never join a lesser club," he explained tellingly. "But if Fiorentina wanted me I would happily go there."

Whether any swap deal is likely remains the stuff of speculation, but Real have been linked with a move for the Gigliati’s very own Galactico, Luca Toni.

It is not totally inconceivable that the Spanish giants might be smoothing the way for a summer move for Serie A’s top scorer.

Goal.com's Team of the week has Gilardino this time around :|

Gilardino: 2 goals scored. Finally getting into his stride.

Firstly he scored 1 goal. It was Shevchenko who scored 2. Secondly, Gilardino was poor and only added a meaningless 4th goal.

and then this

Storari: Let 4 goals in but made key saves to deny Milan a larger score margin. Nothing one can do when Milan are in form.

:| how can any keeper who let 4 in be considered for team of the week? I don't care if he saved 100 other shots. Milan scored 4 :|

On the other hand, Peruzzi was the only reason Lazio salvaged a draw vs Juve with some meaningful stunning saves.

Week in week out these clowns at goal.com make so many unforgivable blunders. I even sent a letter once .. nothing came of it obviously.

Makes me wanna puke.

Toni tries to shake off curse
Fiorentina striker and Serie A top scorer Luca Toni has blamed supernatural forces for his inability to score his 17th goal of the season.

The Italy international started off the season at a phenomenal rate, scoring 16 goals in Fiorentina's opening 13 Serie A matches.

In the three games since, however, he has failed to score, hitting the post and the bar in a 2-1 defeat to Juventus, missing a penalty in a 1-0 win over Treviso and then hitting the post again in a 1-1 draw with Empoli last weekend.

In Italy the number 17 is considered unlucky, just as 13 is in England and the United States.

"I admit it: I'm starting to believe in the curse of the 17th goal," Toni was quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

"I'm a fairly superstitious person."

But the numerical barrier was only half the problem, he said.

Toni has also lost his lucky charm - a small red horn that usually hangs from the rear view mirror of his car.

"The horn isn't there any more," he said. "I broke it. Or rather I lost the bit you need to hang it up. It all happened after the game against Juventus."

Fiorentina fans will be hoping he finds the lost piece before their tricky home game against Palermo on Wednesday.

Toni has Barcelona dream
Thursday 22 December, 2005
Fiorentina striker Luca Toni has said that he would jump at the chance of joining Barcelona. "I’d go there straight away," he surprisingly stated.

Serie A’s leading goalscorer has attracted a number of interested clubs after an exceptional first four months with the Viola, during which he has netted 16 goals in 17 appearances for the Tuscan club.

However, the Modena-born attacker has said that his greatest ambition is to put on the Blaugrana shirt of the Spanish champions.

"I would love to play for Barcelona," he admitted. "If I get the chance towards the end of my career I would like to go and try new experiences but, in the case of Barcelona, I’d go right now."

Earlier in the season Toni was linked with a possible move to Real Madrid – an association he laughed off as wishful thinking, but it is the Catalan side who attracts him more than the Galacticos.

"I prefer Barcelona because they are the best team around right now," he explained. "They have the best player in the world by far in Ronaldinho and so I would love to play for them.

"Having said that, I wouldn’t be upset if Real were to show an interest," he added.

Barcelona are unlikely to take advantage of Toni’s flattery as they are intent on luring Arsenal’s Thierry Henry to the Camp Nou, while Real are reportedly in negotiations to bring Roma’s Antonio Cassano to Madrid.
