Here is the Review

The end of the review says it all....

"All good? Not quite, as the same easy scoring from 'sweet spots' plague the game and for some reason it's nigh on impossible to score from five yards out, one-on-one with the keeper. And because of the reliance on motion captured animation and pre-set special moves, you still never feel in complete control of the player."

But the gameplay has significant flaws as the past games. EA didn't fix these problems. Any soccer loving fan would know that the easiest place the score is one on one with the goalies. And being that these 'sweet spots' do exist, this means just like in fifa 2003 and 2004, i will be playing games where the score is 5-6 or 7-4.

4 paragraphs long. Jeez, that's in depth.

And sweetspots. Can someone tell me where they are? I haven't found them.

I dont need more than 4 paragraphs. Like i said, that one paragraph was all I needed to know.

It's like having a FULLY equipped Mercedes Benz with a '94 Ford Taurus engine: What's the use?

It's like adding 20 inch chromed out rims onto a '95 Dodge Caravan: You can add as many ornaments as you want, such as rims, but in the end, it's still a '95 Dodge caravan.

And about the sweetspot thing, since the reviewers gave it an 82/100, (a score which someone sed that's not bad at all), then the reviewers can be trusted when they say there are sweetspots. If there are sweetspots and if one-on-ones with the goalie is hard, it'll be like playing a basketball video game in which making a lay-up is impossible, but yet making 3-point shots is easy.

And to the idiot who asked who the f*ck cares about me not buying it or not, NOONE cares!!

I just posted my opinion, something done on message boards.

Loser.

I've only ever scored one goal from outside the box. I still can't find any sweet spots. I play world class and the best way I find to score goals is if my striker's in a good position at the end of a good move.

"for some reason it's nigh on impossible to score from five yards out, one-on-one with the keeper."

That's what I thought at first but I've mastered how to score in one-on-one situations. You really have to know when to shoot and where to aim.

i've never really had too much problems as of yet scoring one on ones in the demo, however, the play of the game somehow doesn't feal real...

the game desperately needs new keeper animations
the shooting needs to be revamped (dont get mad at me, but just look at pes's shooting system)
maybe this is why the goals feal the same to some people, there is just a lack of realistic movements....

I think it was summed up well when he said you never quite feel you have total control of the player, and its true, ive played the Demo quite a bit and there is something just un natural, something holding you back, there is no feeling of total freedom when you play the game, its like there are so many animations and thats it, very limiting, and thats what ends up making me get bored with the game, and the shooting, its like the same shot everytime, the ball has the same velocity, it seems, leaving you feeling empty........................how many more games are FIFA gonna produce that have this very serious flaw, if they dont see it or care about it as many die hard FIFA fans dont, then every game will be the same, sure its improved in many areas thats not what im saying, im saying the foundations are all wrong fix them and FIFA would be a game to rave about, with this major flaw FIFA will always be 2nd best, and it is.:hump:

FIFA is like driving a Ferrari Enzo on rails, you get all the visuals, and excitment for 5 minutes but you are not in control of where you wanna go and soon it gets boring, get off the rails with PES LMAO:rockman:

erm... do not agree with that review AT ALL... seems like the reviewer played it at pro for about 30 min and then wrote the review...

i think every good game should get at least 10 hrs of solid play before you can write a review... otherwise only games with a very shallow learning curve will score well. The way he whines about one-on-one issues its obvious he's hardly played the game... i score one-on-one almost always, and i learnt how to do it with just about 2, 3 hours of play... so it seems the reviewer hasn't played it much anyway.... even in real life one-on-one is not a walk in the park, because the goalkeeper cuts down the angles.. and you have to choose the right side, throw the goalie off, and shoot low... simply because pro football players are so good doesn't mean its that easy

I was watching Milan -Lazio yesterday... i was shocked to see how much the flow of the game matched what i see and play on the demo.

As for lack of control, again the reviewer probably just plain sucks at the game, i have perfect control over what i want to do (unlike previous fifa's)...

previous couple of fifa's dissapointed me, for taht reason i was skeptical about fifa 2005, but the more i play it, the more i can feel it coming back again :)

Well im not a fanboy of either FIFA or PES,i just play what i like. Now IMO 2004 had a crap load of bugs,EA concentrated entirely on graphics it seemed before, the animation was to much that there was no feel and you couldnt run past any players.

In 2005 ive noticed a huge difference and that reviewer must be crap because in 2005 there is far more feel for the player, you can do loads of great runs. The crosses are brilliant now and the mixture of different goals ive scored are brilliant. Also Wing play actually works now but so does taking on 2-3 players getting through and getting a shot on goal. So far this demo has made me pretty addicted to the game. I have no idea what the reviewer was going on about but this will be a very good game,Well at least for me it will be as it has everything i like in a footie game.
