the 2 B's can play on the left and right sides of midfield with the Ogre defensive and the magiacian attacking. At least guti will be the 2nd player off the bench.

i have a ? whats the pt of yet another forward for Madrid?

I think we are going to play him as a midfielder ....

I don't think this signing is necessary, but other supporters disagree with me. We'll see.

More than anything we need a defender.

Indeed, Sevilla have admitted they are preparing to offload Baptista but insist talk that Real might land highly-rated young defender Sergio Ramos as part of a double deal is well wide of the mark.

Director of sport, Ramon 'Monchi' Rodriguez, is adamant that Ramos, 19, will not be departing the club this summer.

"Sergio Ramos is not for sale," Rodriguez stated.

"We do not want to transfer him, are not thinking of negotiating for him and are not going to listen to offers.

"He is 19-years-old and we are a football club, not a bank.

"The case of Baptista is different. Yes, we are listening to offers but we don't need to sell him."

However, Rodriguez revealed that the club are still waiting to field an official bid from Real, adding: "Madrid have not made us an offer for Baptista up to now."

Florentino is desperate that Madrid may not sign Robinho and he'll be left looking like the :fool: he is so he had to make a move for a big name, though i think Baptista is a very good player and i rather have him over Robinho

that makes no sense.. the few games I saw of Sevilla last season he played as 2nd forward.. so it means Owen is out.. if you put him in the midfield who do you take out? Can he actually play as a midfielder?

crus, you think La Bestia can play on the left side ?

I dont think is a good idea.

In Sevilla he played as 2nd forward or offensive midfielder, even he can play as Defensive midfielder with Gravesen or Pablo Garcia.

kidding aside, it's a good signing for the future. The old guard will leave eventually.

What is your lineup for us next season ?

elmundo has it http://elmundodeporte.elmundo.es/elmundodeporte/2005/07/29/liga/1122652606.html

They are pretty reliable ;)

I would say:

Iker Casillas

Salgado - Helguera - any CB - R.Carlos

Beckham Gravesen Zidane

Baptista

Ronaldo - Raul

But since Luxemburgo said he prefered Zidane in the top of rhombus, i really have no clue.

Baptista is a good signing if we dont get Robinho, actually i really prefer Baptista to Robinho. But if we sign Robinho that will means we will sell Owen for sure, and i really hate that :(

Casillas

Baptista, Raul, Owen, Soldado, Ronaldo, Robinho, Adriano, Guti, Zidane, Beckham, the best defense is a good attack! :P

Yeah, that's what I was wondering since I am not sure if Zizou will play on the left. I feel really bad for Michael Owen. :kader:

Looks good in white :p

michael owen is our only true consistent striker, yes ronaldo is the best and scores more than michael but ronaldo usually has a few average games then expoldes (case in point the last few games of the season) .i think our team needs someone like michael. i think we should get robinho when is contract is up. baptista is better than him anyway

I’d go for that line up:

with Raul/Ronaldo/Owen rotating every game or depending on form.

----------------------Casillas---------------------
--Salgado----Helguera------Woody-----Carlos--

--Becks------------- Gravesen-------- Baptista--

-----------------------Zidane---------------------

-----------Owen-------------------Ronaldo-------

Subs: Raul, Guti, Garcia, Pavon, D.Lopez

That's great news that RM signed Baptista - IMO now Robinho can come next year straight in for Zidane...(if they let him go cheaper, otherwise snap him up in 3 years for free)

RM could still fork out the money for a good CB (I still got doubts over Woodys fitness)

Starting XI
i think owen will still get a lot of opportunities, he showed his class off the bench last season, plus with all the games we play, he'll definitely get some starts

this is a nice pickup, especially if this really is zizou's last season

i like it more and more
