i just read something in the manu thread about ferdinand. it seems that the fans have all turned against himand he is still reluctant to sign . If florentino could make this move along with the baptista we will have a great sqaud for next year.

Thats right too !

Even having:

Baptista Raul Ronaldo in the line up, Owen will play a lot of minutes like the last season. The season will be very long and Owen will play easily 10-15 matches as starter and 30-40 as sub. The bad thing is that this year there is a world cup and all the players need minutes to show their countries they are good for the World cup. Thats why Solari and Figo are leaving us. Even Guti will think twice too.

OK. This is how I see it. Julio Baptista is not called "The Beast for nothing. He's a big dude. Also, from what I hear he is very good in defence and in attack. Where should we play him? I say right next to Gravesen. Check it out...

Now before someone starts saying, "OH, he's not a left side player," the position I'm proposing is CMF(center midfielder). The same position Deco plays for Barca. Now since Becks(yes Becks), Gravesen, and The Beast all have defensive qualities, Zidane will have even more freedom. All we need now is a new CB(with pace..Andrade please :$ ) and we will be winning titles next season for sure.

i like that formation, i also like the idea of andrade :jambo:

if we can get another cb like andrade as mentioned or someone else with class, i will be happy with this summer's transfers

Gravesen is the best DMF we have. Becks, Grav, and Baptista is our best midfield trio.

Rusi, i will write you what "Marca Guide Liga 2004" said about Baptista in 1st year in Sevilla

"Although being 21 years old (He will be 24 in November), this defensive midfielder is called The Beast and is already playing for Brazil NTdue his power, his strenght..."

His stats in Sao Paulo (as defensive midfielder)

2000 15 matches 0 goals
2001 25 matches 4 goals
2002 15 matches 3 goals
2003 15 matches 3 goals

His stats in Sevilla (as offensive midfielder)

2004 30 matches 20 goals
2005 33 matches 19 goals

I guess this could be a nice option for Baptista to get a spot in Brazilian NT, is not easy to fight Kaka, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Adriano,... but being succesful in Madrid could be very nice for his career :)

IMO Zidane is too inconsistent and he ain't getting any younger. Squad rotations should also be a regular thing to keep players fresh and most importantly happy.

I still think Baptista is better than Grav on the DM. Gravessen cant pass worth a darn. He's no good at that. the beast plays A LITTLE DM for Brasil and does well. He scored that Bicycle kick against Catoloniam when Brasil won 5-1!!

i like that a lot, i think raul/owen/zizou should be rotated between the two positions

also, i think luxe will want to rotate more this year, there was an interview with him on as the other day where he said he wanted more than 11 players, also raul has said he knows he wont start every game

also, i have a feeling we will try to swoop for rio ferdinand, just a hunch..i dont really want him, but he would be someone to replace samuel

As for Rio. I do think he's being a c*nt asking for all that money from United, but the fact remains that he is a damn good CB. He's fast, strong, and tall. If we signed him, we would be set for next season.

yea he'd definitely shore up the defense, that's definite

i wonder how much he would cost? It seems like a good time to go after him, especially since he is hesitant to sign a new deal and the fans seem to have turned on him

edit: weren't woody and rio paired up defensively in leeds? that might be another reason to get him if he knows the style of woody
