porto-chelsea

that would be an interesting confrontation :brow:
i want to see the mourinho's word games this time

braga-parma (if braga go through, they'll play against the winner of feyenoord-tottenham)

it seems that parma is not so well... that should be quite possible to braga

benfica-dinamo bucarest (if we go through, we will play against the winner of AEK-paris SG)

i think it's a good draw for us... but let's see.

loooool

we will play against the famous zé kalanga!

Porto got like the 2nd or 3rd worst possible draw.

Benfica got a decent draw although they're no pushovers, we could have gotten Sevilla or Ajax.

Starting XI
Porto got the worst draw.
Chelsea doesn't play as good as Manchester, that's correct...but gets the same results...and was in a worse group than Manchester imo...and still got first place.

Chelsea is a very hard team to beat, and anyone who does it is almost very lucky.
But Porto can do it...

True, it's never easy to beat Chelsea, even if they are in a not so good phase.

It's a good draw for Benfica, seeing the teams that might have been chosen. I'm not worried about the home game, but playing in away ground in Romenia or other eastern european country is never easy.

We must resolve this in the home game.

I don't think Porto's draw is a total disaster either, Porto's also the type of team that can get results even when playing bad so you never know.. Quaresma can also cause a major surprise with one of his moments of brilliance..

Redknapp told: Don't pick Fern

COMMENT ON THIS STORY

PORTSMOUTH chairman Alexandre Gaydamak has told boss Harry Redknapp NOT to pick Portuguese star Manuel Fernandes at Arsenal today.

Fernandes, on loan from Benfica, was in Redknapp’s starting line-up but was withdrawn after Gaydamak issued the unprecedented ultimatum.

Portuguese sources claim Portsmouth are reneging on a deal to buy Fernandes for £7million.

Pompey brought Fernandes, 20, to the club on the understanding they had to buy him once he had started three Premiership games in a row.

Fernandes started the matches against Aston Villa and Everton and the visit to Arsenal would have been the third.

Pompey apparently do not have the funds to buy the player and Benfica and Fernandes are furious.

The player is expected to return to Portugal tomorrow, much to Rednapp’s anger.

He rates the player highly and apparently apologised personally for the club’s behaviour.

Redknapp has likened Fernandes to Paul Ince while Jose Mourinho compared him to his own Claude Makelele.

A Portuguese source told SunSport: “This is a right mess.

“Portsmouth have totally gone back on their word and Benfica are going to take their complaint to UEFA.”

Yay! :D

Man, having Manel Fernandes back would be awesome. If that happnes there is no reason for still having Petit as a starter, with Fernandes and Katsouranis.

Now please just get rid of FS

Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I actually saw some nice football from Benfica (Y) ..even Nuno Gomes, Assis, and Kikin, all had pretty nice games for a change..

I thought it was a pretty entertaining game in general actually, even Setubal played some good football in the first half.
