Guess you didn't watch our games in the CL last year where Anderson - Luisao were considered one of the best CB doubles of the competition.

Rocha has at least one costly mistake per game and he tends to have more in these big games. Even against Copenhagen he managed to f*ck up a header and it costed us a goal.

Anderson already missed an header this season just like Rocha's,

i never really liked Anderson that much to be honest, he's dead slow, good positioning sense , good heading, defending and attacking (great in corners) but that's about it. his speed and calmness is what worries me the most.

Ricardo Rocha is fast, much more agressive(wich cost him some red cards already), goes out of the defense with the ball controled and can actually start an attack.

i even prefer Alcides over Anderson.

lol lmfao Anderson is a top CB in Portugal lol way better in everypart of the game comapred to Ricardo rocha who for the most oart plays at R. COsta's level

well, that seems to be the overall opinion, never understood it tbh, i believe Anderson is only that high rated because of his nationality, and because he've played for his NT (even if it was only once against a ****ty team)...

and no f*cking way he's better than Rocha in every part of the game, you can say he's better, i can understand that, but not better in every aspect.

Rocha missed one?

Rocha missed another header which lead to Braga's third, was positioned wrong in their 2nd goal, headed the ball backwards which led to Porto's third goal, etc etc.

The man has been a walking disaster this season and whereas Anderson got benched for one mistake, and rightly so because he wasn't playing well, now it's Rocha who's making mistake after mistake and should be benched.

Anderson didn't had one mistake only,

i remember two against Boavista and one against Paços (just like Rocha's against Braga and Copenhagen) , not to mention how passive he his everytime an opponent player his ready to shot outside the area, while Rocha attacks him as soon he can, Anderson sit his ass waiting him to put the ball on the net...

i admit Rocha have been making some mistakes, maybe in the overall if you count them, Anderson probably did more but whatever, my point his that i prefer Rocha because of his qualities, and thinking of fast and technical gifted players like liedson playing against Anderson makes me think it will be a walk on the park, while with Rocha he just won't give them space, although with Liédosn it's probable he gets red carded, considering his hard, but on ball tackles and liedson clown shows, that has quite some probability of happening.

For me, Anderson is a top CB. Sure, this beggining of season wasn't at the level he used to deliver, but he has more confidence now and he's getting to that same level.

If you observe last years Anderson's matches you can see he plays with much more class than RR. I'm not saying RR is a bad player, I like him too, it's just that I prefer Anderson.

I agree with Virgo, atm he should be playing alongside Luisão.

On a related topic, many newsapapers are saying that FS will really play Miccoli as a starter.. Now, if he isn't fit this is just getting out of proportions because there are obviously high risks of him getting a (severe) injury throughout the match.. especially with the likes of Miguel Garcia playing..

Katsouranis may be agressive but he's fair play. I can't say the same about Petit and I agree with you there.

You're twisting my words. I mentioned Miguel Garcia as a joke, because the guy gives a lot of "porrada", especially when playing against Benfica. :p

What I meant is, if Miccoli is still injured, and if he faces someone such as MG (it could be anyone who tackles hard) then he may be likely to pick up an injury.

But if anyone is to blamed if Miccoli gets injured (I hope he doesn't) gotta be FS and SLB's medical department for letting him play, quite simply.

Well, 10 min to play, and Sporting today was awful.

Congrats to Benfica. Did their chances and scored...

P.S: We need a striker, FAST.

OH YEAH! :bob: :bob: :bob: :bob:

that victory felt so good! the first goal helped us a lot. and most of all, if i am not wrong it is the first good game of this season against a team that usually preassure a lot (against braga it was too bad).

can't help myself, but (and this is the only bad thing for us in this game) i am so pissed of against nuno gomes. he was sent off by his own stupidity! i expect much more intelligence from a player with that experience. that was so mindless! let's see who gets the opportunity in the next game, and most important, if the substitute do better than nuno gomes.

i hope that we will play with the same spirit and the "little luck" (estrelinha)that also helped us today, against manchester

I'm glad Rocha proved me wrong and played a great game, but I still think Anderson is a better and more consistent player.

Hope he proves me wrong again next Wednesday.

I'm glad Nuno Gomes got a red, he's been a liability for the last few matches and it's about time he's benched for a few games, now maybe Kikin can get a good run in the first team against Naval, etc.

You trully believe it was a good game?

What a sh1tty game!

Benfica got an early advantage and after doing almost nothing during long periods of time when they had almost all team behind the ball they could get a historical result at break time due to a corner, a counterattack that lead to goal, another counter that Miccoli sent to the post and that freekick by the end. Besides that... nothing!! Unbelieveble!

I'm not saying that Sporting deserve to win or that they played well, on the contrary. Sporting sucked with Romagnoli and Bueno starting! Though they had much more iniciative and attacking football, aimless but they did!

I was watching the game with some friends, Sporting and Benfica fans, and Benfas were laughing and pissing Sportinguinstas cause they admitted that Benfica was seated back there, playing "badly", irritating Sporting and they got away with it!

IMO there's a penalty agaisnt Benfica when Luisão grabs Bueno at 1st post, but i understand it was hard to judge at 1st sight. Nuno Gomes red card is shameful! How could he do that? Same to Polga when he hit Nuno, he should have seen a direct red card not a double yellow!

Great goal by Simão, the totally pisses on Custodio head and goes for the goal!! :rockman:
And that save by Quim at the end to a Djalo shot!! Superb! :) Though it was pitfull to see him fake injuries when jumping with Sporting forwards, and i'm not talking about the injure at the end, i believe that one was true but the previous ones!

Congrats to Benfica! I lost my bet, Miccoli didnt hurt so fortunately he'll play Man Utd, but he didnt had to run today so he could not have injured!
