It will matter to me if we can't get a point against Benfica. If we blow this Champions League group it will be disgusting. We win our first three and then fail to take one point from three matches? Obviously the Chelsea match is big, but we could have been able to focus almost entirely on that had we secured a point against Celtic or Copenhagen.

Seems Diouf has a thing for Rooney

Diouf Admits Diving To Con Referees

Controversial Bolton Wanderers striker El-Hadji Diouf admits that he dives - but insists he is not the only one trying to con Premiership referees.

The Senegal international striker, 25, sees diving in the area under minimal contact in order to bid to win a penalty as just being "very clever."

He said: "It's not just me who dives. If you see Wayne Rooney, how often does he dive to get a penalty?

"Sometimes I need to dive to have a penalty. It's just football. The best footballer is very clever like that."

Diouf also reckons his reputation as a "bad boy" goes before him and results in greater attention - and buse - being directed towards him than to other Premiership stars.

"Sometimes I dive because I move my foot before the guy comes in to break my leg. Sometimes I get a free-kick, sometimes I don't," he added.

"The problem is sometimes the referees are not very good with me, I've had penalties and not been given them.

"I've won some penalties like that, but how many penalties has Rooney won and nothing is ever said about him? But it is when it's me.

"Everybody thinks I am a bad boy. I have a bad reputation everywhere in the world.

"I know that, but what is imprtant for me is that the people I am working with - Sam Allardyce, the staff and the other players - know I am a nice lad.

"It is just that I have a bad reputation. I like being booed though and I usually do something early in the game to get people booing me."

Well at least he got the ball to move... unlike a certain Arsenal duo I can recall.

Ohh that cut deep.

I mean, when Saha looks back and realises he's a pile of crap, he'll think to himself, well at least I'm not top scorer in the league 3 years running or one of the best goal scoring midfielders the premiership has ever seen.

Rooney Signs New Six Year Deal

Wayne Rooney has signed a new six-year contract with Manchester United on the eve of one of the biggest game in his two years at Old Trafford.

United face Chelsea at Old Trafford in a massive Premiership clash tomorrow and have been given the perfect boost by Rooney committing his future to the club until 2012.

"It is something I have always wanted," said Rooney. "There is so much I want to achieve with this club, starting hopefully with the league this season."

His boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, added: "It reflects our intention to build a team to stay together.

"Cristiano signed a new contract last year and we have other exciting young talent here too.

"We see Wayne and Cristiano emerging as the best players in the world. They have their best years in front of them and we will all be lucky to witness that."

Rooney joined United from Everton for £27m two-years ago.
