Wow, the last half an hour or so was absolutely mind-blowing, anymore signings tonight and I'll need the sick bucket. What the hell is going on? it's not like us to get business out of the way so swift and early, usually we wait and then fuck up big time.

I think it's fair to say that the prize money for winning the title has now been spent on those two and Hargreaves, and the money to be made from selling Heinze and Saha will go on a striker. Either Pique or Evans will be thrown into the first-team to replace Heinze and the other one will go back out on loan.

I think Giggsy decided to call it a day with Wales once he heard that Nani to United was definitely on, it makes sense now. When his place is seriously under threat he decides to do something about it, be it competition on the left or a new contract.

Don't say it yet, not until they're standing at Old Trafford holding the United shirt!! I'm so high right now, but I'll be even better once they pass medicals and sign.

The Giggs thing makes sense though. I'll bet Cristiano's turning cartwheels tonight :)

Yeah, the EPL winning money and the new TV contract is what will be used to pay for these players, i wonder though how much we really gonna pay for them. 25 million euro each sounds a bit pricy, but you never know.

Anyways, time for Kieran to take a hike.

just here to congratulate you guys for being Premiership Champions from 2007 to 2015. :jap:

(H) you're funny

Settle down a bit, the players still have to gel together and plus you never know what might happen, maybe they won't be good enough or somebody gets frustrated and leaves. Nah, who am i kidding, those are ******* awesome. :bob:

Moreira: Hargreaves is for defensive position, Scholes is attacking position, so i'm thinking that Anderson will be Scholes' cover.

Now if only Scholes, Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo can continue their amazing form from last season, then it really will be interesting to see how far we will go. I guess Fergie got tired of chasing the Champions League.

I think that if one of the two players has to go on loan, Anderson would seem to be the one likeliest to do so unless he qualifies for a work permit. Anyone else think SAF might use some sort of variation of the 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 with the new additions?

I bet it's dependant on success etc. And yeah it's time for the makeweights of the squad to ship out. Kieran will not get a second of playtime with Nani, Giggs and Ronaldo ahead of him. I think Sheasy will finally settle in defence and I'd like to see Fletcher (If he stays) convert to full back as he did last season (and did very well) because with Owen, Michael, Scholesy and Anderson in the squad, he's not going to see much central midfield time either.

As for the "loan rangers" I reckon Guiseppe Rossi will see some time up front this year, and I'd like to see Danny Simpson and Jonny Evans come back. I can see Gerrard Pique also returning (usefull UCL experience).

Fraizer Campbell will be loaned out to a lower league English side I think, he's done well in Antwerp. Dong will also probably be farmed out too. Here then, is my United 2007-8 squad. (signing permitting)

GK: VDS / Kuzchzak (sp) / Foster
LB: Evra / Silvestre / O'Shea / Simpson
CB: Rio / Vidic / Brown / Pique / Evans (O'Shea & Silvestre if needed)
RB: Neville / Fletcher (Hargreaves, Brown, O'Shea if needed)
LM: Giggs / Nani (Ronaldo, Rooney, Evra, O'Shea if needed)
AM: Scholes / Anderson (Rooney, Giggs, Ronaldo if needed)
DM: Hargreaves / Carrick (O'Shea, Pique & Fletcher if required)
RM: Ronaldo (alternates with Giggs or possibly Anderson, Fletcher / Solskjaer if required.
FW: Rooney / Smith / Saha / AN Other (I have no Idea) / Rossi / Solskjaer

Looks pretty good to me!

Anderson will get a permit, Portugal is in the EU (where he's already played)

Holy ****!! Unbelieveable. The squad looks really strong now.

Do you guys reckon there'll be a striker coming in to, or is that the end of the spending?

I'd be really surprised if there wasn't.

I would think United will get a striker in, even if it's just to swap Saha. I'd like to see Rossi get some playtime next season, I watched him at Wembley in the U21 match with England and his ball control and shooting was fantastic in the training. (And I've seen him in the reserves)

But you seem to keep the young superstars coming though, and that's not easy. My head is spinning tonight - this is unbelievable!

I know Anderson from seeing Eurogoals and UCL highlights. But I've just seen a youtube video and he does tricks that Cristiano hasn't done (yet) :bouncy:

I'm just praying it all goes through okay especially with the work permit. Nani doesn't need one but Anderson does. I'm sure it'll be okay because he's played inside the EU already.

I can't wait, a United team with Rooney, Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson, Scholes and Giggs!! INSANE :rockman:

yeah, you have no idea of the quality we have in some of the young squads around here.. Sporting, Boavista, Porto.. the first is almost Ajax level imo, and the other two just need more investment..

maybe ronaldo will leave now? For the record, signing contract extensions doesnt make things set in stone.

For the record, Nani's alleged contract extension was never reported on the official Sporting website. And C.Ronaldo also signed a contract extension before we signed him from Sporting.

Although the signings are amazing, we need to remember these guys are only 19 + 20, and will definitely take time to adapt. It could be 2-3 seasons before we clearly see the benefits of these deals.

(Y) Good post.

It's not a guarantee. These guys are young and unproven... let's see how they handle the pressure.
