I still can't believe that out of all people, it had to be him, against Manchester United and in such a situation.

Meh, scores those in training every day :mrpimp:

I hold my hands up, your first goal was world class and I don't think United looked up for it till then. Unfortunately Shay Given was in one of those phases where he got something to almost everything plus the finishing on the whole from us was terrible. Missed Carrick IMO Fletcher was pretty much invisible, Giggs was nullified and Rooney and Ronaldo just weren't getting the rub of the green tonight.

Thought the ref let a few dodgy tackles on Ronaldo go - though I think a couple of ours escaped too. I'll bet Edgar never has a game like that again, and his goal was lucky it hit two people on the way in (I'm sure it flicked off Martins as well as Scholes) But y'know some times it happens that way. We're still 7 clear (though the Chel$ki will probably do Villa).

Newcastle were up for a fight, and United really didn't look like matching their commitment until our usual "gung ho last 20 minutes" That's what annoys me, how it often takes the opposition scoring to trigger our best football, that's what cost us against West Ham too. United are far better going for the throat from the first whistle to the last.

Not a gutting performance, but disapointing. :nape:

that just shows how much he knows about football. this is not FIFA 07.

this comes from a guy who reckons nigerian talent is the best and jay-jay is the best footballer in the world.

on the game, fvcking hell our defence hardly make mistakes these days and we still concede, that is so ****. luck isn't our friend, poor scholesy his goals deserved to be winners.

all in all i would say the team looked tired. we have come through the worst part of the season and i think we have done very well. now that it is over the lads can have a little rest and get ready for the next game.

The hardest part of the season is about to start mate. No more nice sunny days and dry pitches. The second half of the season is always the hardest and from here on in until May is when the title is decided. I always enjoy the second half of the season the most because most of the time, good form counts for nothing. :mexican:

True the wet and muddy games like the one at Fulham on the 30th are about to start. Should be fun :bouncy:

We couldnt finish our chances which came by the loads. Its very frustrating to say the least.Rooney,Ronaldo,Giggs and Park all failed to capitalise. One more disappointment is Louis Saha. You rest him for 3 games and he gets injured?? A groin injury needs at least 3 weeks to be fully cured. Now,this would be a platform for Henke Larsson would it? Neville also looks a bit jaded and I'm a bit suspect on his fitness. He is injured or isnt he? Both goals came from his side.Wes Brown did well deputising him for a couple of games and should have been retained. We did well over the hectic period nonetheless.Lets just hope Chelski hit the bumps again against Villa.

im talking about the schedule. over the holidays the games come hard and fast. there isnt nearly the fixture conjestion there is over the holiday period. so i disagree, there hardest part of the season just finished and it only lasted 2 weeks.

Larsson's timing couldn't have been any better with Saha out for a fortnight, it is quite frustrating to see that every time we get a chance to extend our lead we don't take it, hopefully Aston Villa can do wonders today, but I am proud of our players for playing well in almost all the games, maybe a result like yesterday's will help realize that we should keep on working hard, Chelsea isn't quite as good this season, but they are still giving us a hard time, barcodes result should help the players realize that

haha a 33 yr old and 35 yr old leading manutd attack...

Yeah but I wonder how many times they've netted between them :)

Villa are a strange side at the moment, they were flying late last year and they seem to have hit a rut recently. I sincerely hope United don't take them too lightly or else we might be outta the cup before we've even started.

Be ironic if Beppe Rossi actually sees more time on the pitch for us than at Newcastle, and with injuries to key strikers he just might - I can't see Larsson lasting 90 minutes, he hasn't played in a month or so.

GAPS STILL 6 - CHEL$KI HELD 0-0 BY VILLA !!

Lampard almost scored in the last few minutes, luckily he missed,

That's what he said. There was nobody to deflect the ball into the net for him.

This game was very similar to ours with Chelsea dominating most of the game and not being able to put away the abundance of chances. So i guess its all even and fair.

Now hearing Jose talk about how important Christmas period is and how they will gain more points then United and then go on and drop 6 points in 4 Christmas games is priceless (H)
