Liverpool are reported to have joined the chase to sign highly-rated Brescia striker Andrea Caracciolo.

Reports emanating from Italy claim that Liverpool have made an enquiry for the young forward as they look to bolster their attacking options.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in the Italian Under-21 international with Milan, Juventus and Arsenal all believed to be keeping tabs on his progress.

Liverpool are now thought to be hoping to steal a march on their rivals with a concrete bid for Caracciolo.

The Anfield outfit are believed to be ready to offer El Hadji Diouf, who is currently on loan at Bolton, in part exchange for Caracciolo.

Brescia president Gino Corioni has already said that he does not want to let Caracciolo leave the club in January when the transfer window reopens, but the interest in the player is growing.

Caracciolo is earning rave reviews in Italy and he was called up to the full national team for the friendly with Finland earlier this month.

He is under contract at Brescia until 2008, but it appears Brescia could be forced to let him go should a sizeable offer come in due to their financial situation.

Mediocre performance against Monaco. My god, we were never in the game, they did almost nothing and we managed to do even less. Plus the bad luck streak we're facing with the injuries.

I'll be pleased with a draw vs Arsenal considering all the **** that has been happening lately for us.

If we play at our best, we could get something. Only thing is, we probably won't play at our best.

You would play Mellor, a striker, as an AMC and have Pongo, who can't score even for the reserves but has looked good as a midfield/forward link up man as our sole forward!?:o

From what I've seen of Mellor, he looked to be better playing more in a AMC role then a striker role. Maybe more CF then AMC...

To be honest, I haven't seen enough of FSP to make a good decision on his playing skills.

I have lost faith in Liverpool;i think we stand no chance against Arsenal even if Reyes,Bergkamp or Henry don't play. We looked very dull in our 2 last matches;i think we should put our reserve :P they play better :P:P:P. maybe put Whitbread in place of Hyypia :P;he is quicker

. Fickle much?

Anyway, just a little bit from ALT. I'd like to see him brought back given our injury crisis......

LE TALLEC: I'LL COME BACK IF NEEDED
Paul Eaton 26 November 2004

Anthony Le Tallec has said he will cut short his loan spell in France to return to Anfield if Rafael Benitez wants him to help ease the club's injury crisis.

Le Tallec agreed a one year loan deal with St Etienne at the start of the season after Benitez told him he couldn't be guaranteed a first team place at the club.

The Reds are chronically short of attacking players following injuries to Djibril Cisse, Milan Baros, Luis Garcia and Vladimir Smicer, while Antonio Nunez is yet to kick a ball for the first team after knee surgery.

There have been no suggestions that Benitez will recall Le Tallec from his loan spell, but the youngster says he will come back to Merseyside if needed.

"Liverpool is my club," he said. "I am the one who asked to leave. But should they need me, there is no problem.

"I would be a little bit bothered to leave Les Verts like this, but if needed, I'm ready to go now."

i have a sneaky feeling we're going to get 3 points this weekend :o with everyone expecting us to lose i think we'll upset the bookies and actually win it against the odds! you heard it here first!!
