Ciao Rinaldo,
awesome tool!!Just one problem, I edited one of my carrers with N.Forest,but now in the transfer maket, there are never out of contract players, and my team is shown in the coca cola championship1 instead of Premier league, even though I still continue to play in the premier...Why? Thanks in advance!!

I actually found a work around for this. I went into my original fifa.db and changed the name of the player (409519), using CM08, then went into my career file with MM08 and changed the name (409519) and got it to work. So now young player 409519 originally Claude Seigre is Martin Skrtel.

Honestly Steve, this first version of MM08 does not exploit all the potentialities of the career file (for example it does not allow to create players in career though it is potentially possible). I was referring to the request to change the name of a player already existing in fifa.db and , in this case, the name to be changed is the one in fifa.db as I don't know what will happen if the player has a name in fifa.db and a different name in B.carrer. It should be investigated. The workaround of Ashman23 works for sure.

Thanks, Rinaldo for the update. I did have a crash after playing with Skrtel in one game, just after the final whistle. Don't know if it's related to him but I will try and recreate it and post back here.

Not exactly. The limit of 8 is in the file structure but you can change the teams you want to control, apart from the first 1 that is fixed. So, if you have 8 teams you can use MM08 to change the controlled teams from 2 to 7 and so you can virtually control any team.

I don't believe that the game cares about the player values in FIFA.DB since that table is read exclusively from the manager mode data file. Since players can have names held in the saved data (which you already cater for because created players and those from the patched rosters already show up correctly) it is almost certainly possible to add names to the data area at the end of the table and reference those strings in the same way as they would be for created players.

Growth curves exist in the database, not the saved data file, and can already be readily manipulated using DB Master.

Fixing the XP growth problem requires a program that performs the same function as DB Master but for saved data files (whatever happened to Internal Master Rinaldo, have you shelved it or is it simply lower down the list of priorities??) because you would need to save the contents of the career_player_growth_xp table before signing a player (or players) and then merge the new players into that saved data and re-import it.

Just to report that using Skrtel again in a game did not recreate the crash I had, so it must of being something else. My game is running fine, must of been one of those things that happen occasionally.

Hi Rinaldo,

I'm working on a Euro 2008 Mode patch and I've have some questions for you about the MM08 program.

1. If I save a tournament as one of the teams in the first match, (eg Switzerland vx Czech Republic) MM doesn't show anything in the Tournament file - it's just blank. Perche?

2. If i save as a team that plays after the first match, won't the result of the matches before it always be the same, thus reducing chances of a certain team progressing? Eg I choose Portugal and opening match is always say hyopthetically 1 - 0?

3. Can neutral stadiums be set in the tournament file for rounds where the teams are not known? EG Quarter finals and Semi Finals only use two stads Ersnt-Happel and St. Jakob. Also if it could be applied to have a neutral stadium for all games including group stage that would be great as well.

4. Also I have noticed a problem that in Tournament Mode always has 4-4-2 formation as default for all teams. Is there a way to fix the file so that all teams custom formations are shown, including those controlled by CPU? BTW, if a user goes to My Squads in Tournament mode, it sets its team formation to the custom one from 4-4-2.
EDIT: I just did a test in removing the generic formations from the (800's) and it showed the team's custom formation but only with the GK (and resulting in a crash! :( ). If I went to my squads it would set the user team's custom formation as per usual, but this time the same formation would also be applied to the CPU opponent too. :|

EDIT: This doesn't have to be neccessarily from the tournament file; If There is something for any of the above that can be done in the fifa08.exe file that would be also help. ;)

i decided to test out this tool so i started a completely new manager mode career, played one friendly game and saved the game and then i went to use manager mode but i got this error message on opening the file

"Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index."

any ideas?

Sorry but I didn't understand well what you mean. Can you explain better ?

The only thing you can do is to assign a stadium to the team or to the final.

This is a typical situation occurring when the formation assignement has some problems, in this case FIFA 08 use 4-4-2 by default . I suggest you to review the assignement of formation to the teams.
