I have two quick questions (not entirely about MM08 but still):

1. Can I install new stadiums without corrupting the manager file? I'm halfway into my first season and I don't want to start over, is there any way to install more stadiums and assign them to teams in the MM without having to do that?

2. How can I control more teams? I don't see an option within the program to manage more teams, I can only access my team.

Workaround: change the birth country of your manager.

It should work. Backup your fifa.db, your language.db and your career file and try yourself. If anything goes wrong you can restore the previous situation restoring these 3 files.

Manager mode in FIFA 08 has not been designed to support multiple teams management. There is a patch from Krystian and Oustider adding a second managed team, it's cool but I don't think it works like people would expect. So I have not included this possibility in MM08.

And what is the "tournaments" tab for? When I go to look at tournaments they're all empty, can you only view tournaments where your team is participating?

Also, I experienced a crash after two games into my second season. I made some transfers in MM and played the first game fine but it crashes after the second, just before you get to the "default" screen (where you see your next opponent and a picture of your manager etc.). I reverted back to a save before I made the transfers in MM and that seems to work fine. Any idea as to why this happened?

No, the standing is the only thing saved by FIFA.

You can change the teams participating to a tournament.

You should upload somewhere your fifa.db, language.db and carrer file. No way to understand the problem without seeing your files.

No because they don't exist. The only competitions that get evaluated are the ones that the manager's team are (or might be) participating in. More precisely, the only fixtures that get played are the ones in the fixture table in the manager mode data file

I have a follow-up question to this; when you view the standings in MM they're the same all season for every league in the game except the one your team plays in. So this is the predetermined standings and will not change regardless, correct?

And this is where I can change the standings to whatever I want and then relegations/promotions will take that effect the next season accordingly? Is this all I need to change or do I have to change anything somewhere else too?

In my manager mode, for example, Cardiff, Sunderland and Crystal Palace have been the last three teams in the PL all season (I play as Forest in the Championship). Do I just make the change right in the standings, and that's it, if I want some other teams to be relegated?

Also, does anyone know how FIFA calculates and decides where each team finished in the table? A bit boring that the other leagues doesn't get simulated since then their transfers and what not during the season doesn't matter at all...

But you can add new competitions through the RTSG table in the manager mode data, as the game already does for friendlies and custom tournaments.

The team_lookup table in the manager mode data file contains those standings but I believe that they represent the values used at the start of the current season, not at the end. Thus you can update them all you like but it will have no effect and your changes will be overwritten by the game at season's end. However, it would be an interesting experiment to try it and see if it makes any difference. Let me know what you find out
