The Inter Milan Thread [2007/2008]

Capela

Reserve Team
i don't follow inter's campaign in italy closely but i know that figo isn't play that much
he think he must play more time and be more times in the starting eleven, but of course i'm suspicious because i'm portuguese and he's one of my idols. but everyone knows his quality, former best player in the world and i really don't see anyone with his quality and class in inter's midfield. of course he's not young but he's not that old either
what do you (inter fans) think of this ?

^^Hey there, Capela? What do you mean by not "much?' I mean, his athletic abilities, fitness and even technical skill to a certain extent have all gone down...especially his fitness. At the moment, he plays two-thirds of a game, then a third on the next game, then two-thirds again the one after that, you know? We're definitely a mediocre team in the midfield, but that doesn't mean that a 35yr old player should be a definite fixture on our lineup every game, for the entirety of the game just because he has a legendary name that proceeds 'em. On some nights, he's having trouble managing 25-30mins of play, so how can you expect the coaches to let 'em run out there for 90mins?

Don't get me wrong, I also really love Figo and consider him to be one of my favs, but we have to preserve him for his and our best interest. He's an important part of the team both in his leadership and his skill.

Forcing wouldn't be exactly the right word.

I must however inform you that Chivu got his injury with the Romanian National Team during training for a useless match, if im not mistaken; not with Internazionale.

So far, so good. If he gets injured again, its the Romanion National Team's fault. They started the problem, so STOP complaining about it. We already have f***** up our sason start due to the abscence of important players do to ijury with the national teams Chivu, Viera, Materazzi.... Just to mention a few.

I might also tell you that it is Inter who pays Chivu's salary and the expences for his rehabilitation form injury, its not the Romanian team.

NICE! Well put, bro.

Yoss your boy Pele is out there in the demolition of Roma. Great game so far, Giuly was dumb to use his hands. Ever since being 1 down Roma haven't looked good at all despite that goal which came from a stupid mistake from Maxwell. Cruz showing some great long range 'low-shots'. Crespo and Cambiasso combining well together. Man I hope Ibra isn't injured at all, he's the Inter icon this season. We had a good conter-attack strategy at the beginning and then we capitalized on our chances with the man advantage.

Sorry mate :(

Btw, wonderful performance by Inter! If we could only be this good in the UCL!

I also hope ibra isn't injured...that would seriously be a HARD blow...

I kind of wanted Adri to get some playing time today...maybe he might have finally broken through again...

Its alright man, sometimes I get overly excited too.

PSV game midweek.

Yeah mate, that's what happened to me...sorry once again.

Anyway, very solid performance by Inter. By the depth of our squad, we should be doing playing like that in every match. I hope that this dominating performance will silence some of our critics. The better team won today!

What constantly bugs me though is just like Ibra said yesterday: "Strong in the championship, fragile in Europe". The match against PSV will be very tough, but I think Inter will come through because of the fact that we are at home. FORZA INTER!

heh.....what the hell did Interista do anyway?

Mate, you know the post you put in the AC Milan thread? (good job!)

Well, I put something along those lines in the AS Roma thread...heh...

He just went into the Roma thread after the victory and dissed them. Its not my thing so I told him my opinion.

LOLzer@ho admonishing folks for their conduct in this place....even you've gotta see the hilarity in that, bro. Anyway. I don't know exactly what Interista said, but imo, there's nothing wrong with a little gloating and ribbing at the opposition's expense once in a while, you know? So long as it's not too malicious and ****....they know that's what their due for, man. That's what an opposition is for, man.

Don't all of a sudden tell me that you've never done it.

Of course I have but I respect each team alot more now, and being a fan isn't about rubbing it in to other teams or receiving abuse for losing.

Power to you bro!!!

Like Horatiu said, I just dissed Roma in their thread because they think they're so amazing, and how they beat us. It was time we got a little REVENGE back!

Btw, what you wote in the Milan thread is WAAAY worse than what I wrote in the Roma thread.

However, Horatiu, has a point, there's no sense in starting a "battle". It could get out of hand. However a little bit of gloating never hurt anyone ;)

By 2008-2009 we will have 16 total scudettos!!!

^hurhur....I wish that I was as positive minded as you, bro.

As important as winning the league title is, I'm really dying for a CL title, man. But unfortunately, we've got no ******* chance.

Interista13

Starting XI
Man yeah, I'm really hoping for a CL title in Europe. I think we have the depth in our squad to do it.

However Inter are much too obsessed with the championship and they don't have a very strong mentality for Europe. None of our players that shine in Italy really make an impact in Europe. Look at Ibra. He scores goals like crazy, but in the CL he's just....ordinary. And I really hope Adriano regains his form he could possibly get included in the CL squad in January (if we get past the group phase that is...)

Like Ibra said…’strong in the championship, fragile in Europe’. But hey, we have to cheer our boys on! Forza Inter!!! (Hehe)

Suazo was sent off:eek: what happened? It's his 1st in a looong time.

He elbowed a PSV player right at the whistle. The ref saw it and sent him off AFTER the game :P

Anyway, how do you guys think our boys will play against Napoli? I think it should be a routine win for Inter, so 2-0 us. Hopefully Adri will finally break through...

Julio Cruz scored his second and third goals of the season as Inter strolled to victory over Napoli at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The Argentine striker, on target against Roma at the Olimpico last weekend, converted assists from Ibrahimovic and Stankovic in a one-sided match against the Azzurri.
Napoli struck a late reply through substitute Sosa who headed in Hamsik's cross.

Three more points then for league leaders Inter, who move four clear of Juventus ahead of Sunday's games.

Cruz sidefooted past Iezzo for his opening goal on 20 minutes after a run across the face of the box by Zlatan Ibrahimovic who cut out four opponents before serving his team-mate.
I
nter asserted their domination and El Jardinero added his second in the 36th minute, firing home a left-footed shot after chesting down Stankovic's long-range pass to beat the offside trap.

Mancini's team could have been four-nil up before the half was out but Cruz shot wide from Stankovic's assist and Ibrahimovic was denied at point-blank range by Iezzo after latching on to Cesar's through ball.
Napoli added a more attacking dimension to their game in the second half but lacked the kind of firepower they showed in their 5-0 thrashing of Udinese earlier in the season.

Bogliacino tested Julio Cesar with a first-time effort from inside the area, but it was Inter who created the clearer chances, Ibrahimovic crashing wide and Suazo missing from close range.

Napoli pulled a goal back six minutes from time when Argentine forward Sosa rose to head Hamsik's cross beyond Julio Cesar.

Inter 2-1 Napoli (HT: 2-0)

Scorers: Cruz 20, 36, Sosa 84.

Subs not used: 1 Toldo, 10 Adriano, 18 Crespo, 30 Pelé.

Coach: Roberto Mancini.

Napoli (3-5-2): 1 Iezzo; 96 Contini, 28 Cannavaro, 21 Domizzi; 2 Grava (14 Garics 56), 17 Hamsik (11 Calaiò 86), 23 Gargano, 18 Bogliacino, 19 Savini; 25 Zalayeta (9 Sosa 79), 7 Lavezzi.

Yes, like I thought, a very routine win for Inter (Y)

I like the fact that we can always count on Cruz! Today he and Ibra were just reading each others' minds! Whoa!

I'm sad that Adri didn't play though...I really want him to get his form back...:(

I don't know how this is possible, but Heroic Zanetti seems to be getting better with age, man. I become filled with pride and joy everytime I see 'em storming down the flank, overlapping some unworthy winger and leading our attack.

What a ******* legend, man. I think of Inter, and his image and mythological exploits are the first things that pop into my head.

Greatest Inter player for people of my generation (15-30yr old demographic), no doubt!

Yeah mate, I agree with you completely about Zanetti. It's really true, because have you noticed nobody is even asking him when he plans to retire? That's cause he plays like a 25 year old!

I love it when he takes the ball and wildly starts storming down flanks, dribbling past opponents...it shows that he is the embodiment of a true Nerazzurro, one who keeps fighting...
