At the moment and due to the corrupt music and video corporates placing money into the back pockets of certain people who operate in the senate etc, things are starting to look pretty grim for the tech manufacturers and the general consumer, but untill that obscene induce act is either accepted or defeated we will just have to wait and see.

They can't prohibit Albania to produce MP3 players or shut down a hard drive factory in Faroe Islands.

Down the street from where I live (in Poland) I can get DVD bootlegs of all the movies that are currently in the theaters. How are they gonna stop that?

right now its still early we have to see how these acts are implemented. Who will be representative of the law in the U.S. to enforce this. However it is possible.

I had downloaded shared software and the company sent me a warning that if this occured again I would be sued, and incur damages, even jail time.

So yeah its real and its very possible. Can they apply it to the entire world.

on another note....and maybe i should put this in the conspiracy thread...but.

I have acquired a spyware/adware file while looking through porn sites that I can't get rid of.......

I've tried everything....adware, spybot....blah blah blah......

I've come to live with it, its almost a symbiont of my computer now...and since it doesn't bother me much, except for the occasional pop up/error bar....I don't bother it.

however, ever since I have acquired this file, pop ups have been mostly from adware removal manufacturers (40$ and up for their program) which brings me to my point....

What if the programers of the infected files.........work for the adware removal companies.....what if they make the files.......and they have the programs to remove them........thus they ensure themselves income......just a thought.....

.......and if this is the case......they can be sued if there is some proof of foul play for fraudulent business practices....
