Its hardly their fault given the situation at the minute. A choice between retaining PL status and going for it in Europe is pretty straight forward.

Losing a CL spot may not even affect the PL a hell lot in the short term. Financially, they are operating on a different level compared to the rest. There's no serious hope of proper EU football yet Dimitri fucking Payet plays for West Ham.

Rakitic is the most consistent midfielder in the elite, he is always a 7.

Iniesta recently turn out into Cesc and only plays 3 month per season but at least he picks the decisive part of the season. You know he is going to shine when there is a big game.

It depends what your definition of "worldclass" is. Rakitic is not at the same level as Iniesta and Xavi at their prime, Pogba, Modric, Cesc "August to January" etc. These players I consider "worldclass".
