Do they have no one else? Pepe had experience at DM. Ramos is not Zouma.

Ramos was pretty decent vs Sevilla and Atletico but that's all. Ancelotti played him single DM last season vs Barça and he was evem worse. Kroos is not helping either.

This 4-4-2 is Madrid's classic system.

He's a good decoy according to Ancelotti:

Pressure on Pirlo made us open up our midfield line too much and it allowed them to find a through ball for Tevez, something that happened a lot in the first half. We preferred to give him more room to prevent that..
