Messi can suck Pele's and Maradonna's dick. He was invisible for most of the tournament other than a few moments of magic.

Golden ball?! James and Robben were WAY better.

Uh... I'm gonna take the controversial position and say that this was his biggest goal AND the one that meant the most to him.

Obviously!

But at the club level, I do disagree.

For just one second, it seemed like the German players were clapping for Messi as he was walking towards them with the golden ball in his hand.

It turned out, they were just clapping for the entire Argentine team.

Okay, time to start the speculation.

If Angel di Maria was available, I think Argentina might have won this.

Such a shame that guys like Reus and Schmelzer and Bender don't get a medal but they can always lift it in Russia.

I thought that Germany weren't quite strong enough to make it all the way, as they seemed a bit too young before the tournament started. But they also had the best "team" mentality/chemistry out of all the favourites. They will eclipse Spain's 3 tournaments (2 EUROs and 1 WC) & I see them taking out 2016 and 2018 too (2 WCs & 1 EURO).

If they can find a left back and a striker, it's going to be very tough to beat them. Especially if Neuer keeps getting better, because that man is a fucking brick wall right now and allows Germany to press like in AvB's dreams. I'm not sure those questions will be solved by 2016, but certainly they should be able to find a striker by 2018.

can't see that happening. The way they play is high-risk high-reward. Either it works against all their opponents (hard to do, as Ger-Arg 2014 showed) or they lose 2-0 to Italy in the SF.

Spain or Italy are capable of stopping them.

Pfff.. I wanted Argentina to win and Messi finally lift the trophy, but it wasn't meant to be. :( It was a good World Cup and at least i'm proud of Holland finishing 3rd. :P
