NTSC
I think the demo works on NTSC.
I don't have NTSC to test, but on entry is says which system do you wish to use, andd it performs a test.
I was able to play on either.I have a cheese box and it may allow NTSC, or NTSC doesn't work and the menu is misleading.
If I had NTSC and wanted PES3, I'd risk trying to get hold of it, but then you probably have Winning Eleven anyway and don't care.
Thought I'd mention it.
Also, to add, I've just been fiddling with a few moves deliberately to see how they play.
It's possible to shake off a defender by turning and turning until you shake him off.
Best of all, you can run in front of a defender, even though he can catch you, he fails to get the ball and does that stumbling thing, but, DOESN'T foul you (not every time anyway, and they often get booked when they do). Like every time you get away in PES2 and then get hacked from behind just as you were about to shoot. How many thousands of times has that wound me up.
Headers seem more fair and evenly fought, rather than first there first served.
Crowd sounds are better but the mixing is awful. If your team misses, you get the "oooh"s, then screams turn into whistles, then their goalie passes to a defender, then its like a ghost town, then your fans scream like mad again when you get the ball. Hmmm. Hopefully that'll be fixed.
A great feature of the improved animations is that your defender makes little stabs at the ball. Feet and legs respond better to play, which makes for greater realism.
You can play same player (i.e. Michael Owen) all game. A bit like two (human) player, same team, except you can do it by yourself.
The ball is lobbed too high during normal play. Long passes are lofted into the clouds a little (a bit fifa).
All four "special play" buttons can be used, rather than the three (and one auto) in PES2. All four icons are shown on screen
When your player fails a tackle, he is able to respond quickly, and doesn't look lost for 10 seconds first.
Sliding is more effective when intercepting a pass.
The worst thing, and I hope this is ironed out, is that once your player has sprinted the first few paces, he has feet of clay, which makes dashing off quite hard. Space is found by "shaking off" the marker rather than running away.
Anyway, hope that helps. I may not actually go back to PES2 (at least for a long while), I'm just going to play the demo for a bit, I think.
More more football like.
