I went into my local GAME store the other day to pre-order PES3 on the basis that you get a playable demo (I fancied an appetiser before the main course). Unfortunately my local one doesn't do it yet. So, anyone else out there got the GAME playable demo... what do you think?

I've played it @ GAME, it played very well...balanced anyway.
The animations are great.
I only played 1 game for like 2 mins or summort, so I'll play again 2day and try and get a better idea of how it's playing.

I played 2 more games 2day it was great! VERY hard to break the defence, but it was on a default of 5 stars without changing.
The A.I is VERY clever, but I have 2 problems with this game:
- CPU players’ are amazingly accurate in front of goal!!
- Every time the CPU was going to score the game had a slight pause.
A very good football simulation overall.
By the way the demo teams were England VS Argentina...

Nick , you know as well as anyone it takes months to get used to the newest KCET game Judging by the "EVERY time the cpu scored..." this year is no different 
Personally though 4 star ML is just right for me with WE7 ML, maybe I'll bump it up to 5 once I get a star studded team together but at the mo its very challenging, 3nil defeats to celtic and liverpool consecutively.
Hopefully they'll release a demo for PC......

I can get used to the game, I DID get used to it, but the CPU just scored so easily.
EDIT: I am crap at this game, lol, but when the CPU got in front of goal it was mostly a goal every time. I guess I'm just sh*t, lol and that pause thingy really stops the flow of the game. I'm sure they'll fix it, I'm 100% sure of this.

Yer, unfortunately this is how KCET implements 5 star mode...but when you watch a premier league match the amount of blocked shots is pretty realistic.

I hope they release a PC demo during October or there will be some serious rioting! 
I still haven't been able to get my mitts on the playable demo of PES3 though.
The playable demo isn't supposed to be final version I don't think, but it almost is. There's about a month-month and a half until release so that should be enough time to sort out the stutters. I've played many demo's of games in the past and just about every one of them has changed between the demo and the release version.
The stuttering was the one thing I was worried about. I watched some vids of it and didn't really notice until some of you said that the game pauses when the ball crosses the line for a goal. Then I watched the video again and there it was (I just thought it was the video before). Hopefully the game will flow smoothly in the final version, it would be unprofessional to leave such a thing in a game, even one that is as good (otherwise) as the PES series. I'd still get it though.

can't speak for WE7 but this is something that annoyed the hell out of me with PES2... you have a clear, wide open corridor in sight, you charge up and shoot and -- surprise! -- some AI defender comes out of nowhere and blocks it...
i think in PES1 it was just too easy to shoot and score so next game around they go all the way to the other end of the spectrum... ah, well, game designers...
this is so funny, i dont know if any of you go on the CM forums ever (i dont recongize any names), the same things where said before CM4 was released, we all said they would have got rid of all the problems and slowdown etc. ........ But they didnt, and THAT was also the BETA demo.

Yeah. You pre-order the game for £1.99 (****, I'm sound like a Game sales rep! arghhh!!!), and they give you the demo. You take the demo home and play it as much as you like and after the match you get a code. You take that code into your Game store and that's you qualifying score for the competition.
