Uruguay international Diego Lugano completed his transfer from Sao Paulo, as he signed a three year contract with an option to extend it for a fourth season.
The 2005 South American Defender of the Year sealed the transfer and said: "I’m very happy to be at Fenerbahçe. There are some great players here and I’m looking forward to playing my part."
The 26 year-old is eligible to play in our next Süper Lig game against Sakaryaspor.

A tough-tackling central defender with powerful aerial ability, he currently plays for Fenerbahçe, having previously played for Plaza Colonia, Club Nacional de Football and São Paulo Futebol Clube.
In 2005, playing for São Paulo, he won Campeonato Paulista, Copa Libertadores de América and FIFA Club World Championship. In 2006, he was a runner-up in the Copa Libertadores de América.
In August 2006, he signed a four-year contract with Fenerbahçe SK.
He's currently married and has a son named Nicolas.
