Birmingham City is looking strong upfront.

Don't forget the permanent acquisition of The Rifle. Nice. And other options with Heskey or Morrison, though Morrison has seen better days.

very true....the partnership of heskey and morrison at the end of last season was improving and they were co-ordinating quite well :taz:

LOLzer......with his run-ins with the law, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if that were to occur before him being capped by the senior squad.

Pool will never finish 3rd.

I completely agree with what Andy Gray said on Sky Sports. Arsenal and Manchester United underestimated Chelsea, they certainly won't this time.

Why dont you support MK Dons?

I think if Liverpool's defense can hold up they place in atleast the top three.

Well since everyone is making predictions I might as well do mine although I'm only gonna do the places that matter...

1 - Chelsea - this is a given, with the squad they have they should win the EPL by a comfortable margin.
2 - Manchester United - I really think that they will be the best team in the EPL this year other than Chelsea of course, they have the players to do it and they finally have a steady and experienced goal keeper.
3 - Arsenal - they will round up the top 3, I think that more teams will start to figure them out and even with the quality players they have they won't be able to win games the same ephatic way they did in past seasons.
4 - Liverpool - fourth place is an underachivement for 'Pool but again I don't think that they will finish higher they are still a couple of quality players away from finishing in the top 3.
5 - Middlesbrough - imo they have the best squad out of the remaining teams and they won't have Europe to worry about.
6 - Everton - they won't have Europe to worry about either.
7 - Tottenham - Davids brings in the veteran experience that the club needs.

18 - Portsmouth - like Arash said a page back "Yakubu gone, Berger gone, Pompey gone."
19 - Fulham - if their pre-season is anything to go by then Fulham is done.
20 - West Brom - it was a miracle they survived last season they won't have the same luck this year.

as far as predictions go..........
i like liverpool's and i like manchester's chances.(although i've recently been to the man u thread and they seem to think that thier midfield will be torn up)
nevertheless i call a three horse (and one donkey) race....

1)chelsea-meh,....
2)manchester-coming in close behind the leader, biting on thier tails
3)liverpool-a few points off of tha mancs
4)arsenal-7-10 points away from anybody near them up and down.......

Thats talk a lot, his best signing is a simple Goalkeeper :\

I dont see Lpool winning EPL, even ending 2nd/3rd with that team

I wouldn't say Arsenal will do sh*t without Vieira and I wouldn't say Uniteds midfield is sh*t either.

1 Chelsea
2 Manchester United
3 Arsenal
4 Liverpool
5 Tottenham
6 Middlesbrough
7 Bolton
8 Everton
9 Aston Villa
10 Birmingham City
11 Newcastle United
12 Charlton
13 Manchester City
14 Blackburn
15 Fulham
16 West Brom
17 Portsmouth
18 Sunderland
19 Wigan
20 West Ham United

As much as I'd like to see West Ham stay up, it don't see it happening. West Brom have more quality than the other three promoted team.

Portsmouth will escape relegation by the skin of their teeth. West Brom and Fulham will be fairly comfortable, escaping relegation by about 4 or 5 points.

Charlton, year after year begin well, and look like they'll push for a UEFA cup spot, but then They always fade away, so I think 12th is a fair position.

Newcastle, I think for me, was one of the hardest to predict. They have brought in some quality, but I don't think the manager is good enough for Newcastle.

Everton, I really can't see them doing as well as they did last season, I think the teams that I have placed above them have better quality and it will show this season. Phil Neville was a good signing, real drive and determination.

Liverpool, I don't really see doing great in the league, they'll do okay, Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard will be their main men for me.

Arsenal, Vieiras presence on the field will be a massive loss, but I think Gilberto Silva will be crucial for them this season. Upfront, Arsenal remain strong.

Manchester United, if Chelsea didn't win the league, Man Utd would be my favourites, United probably won't be that far behind Chelsea, infact, maybe a couple of points may seperate them. I think United will win the FA cup.

Cheslea...need I explain? They have so much quality all over the place.

I wouldn't change that "simple goalkeeper" for Casillas

Well, it's been discussed in their team thread and I agree, and Liverpool does have a chance to finish 3rd, or 4th. They have a decent squad, and played excellent against FC Kaunas in the CL 2nd round. Manchester, on the other hand have Ji-Sung Park, Giggs, Keano, Miller, Fletcher, and Richardson. The only decent ones are Park, and Fletcher but again he's not ready.

Arsenal won't be complete ****e w/o Vieira but it will affect the team and how they play. Vieira was Arsenal's playmaker. During the Amsterdam tournament, Arsenal wou'd've done better with Vieira. Flamini is **** and doesn't do anything, Cecs is too young, and Lupoli is getting better, and better, but he isn't completely ready. Ljungberg, and Pires, and Hleb are pure class, but only those three in midfield aren't capable to damage other teams' defense. Arsenal need a back-up for Vieira fast.

Liverpool have Garcia, Gerrard, Riise, Zenden (****e signing), Kewell, and Xabi Alonso. They also have crouch, but he won't make that much differnce in their attack, he's only good in the air. Liverpool's defence is OK, Carragher, and maybe Riise at LB.

Do you guys think Borgetti will start, and how well, or how big of an impact will he have on the Premiership?
Well, he won't start right away since he's on vacation for 3 weeks after playing both the Confed. Cup and the Gold Cup. He'll probably be a sub at first but will eventually become a starter, how soon will depend on how well he does. Like I've said before, if he's got one thing going for him its that his aerial game is his greatest strength and that will fit right in with the English game. I think he'll do well in England, nothing spectacular but he'll be consistent IMO.

Anyway, I can't see anyone else but Chelsea winning the title this season, when you've got a defense like the one they've got, it makes things a lot easier for you. Hopefully United finish better than 3rd this season but it'll certainly be tough, midfield is still a problem and apart from Park, Fergie's done nothing to reinforce that area. He needs to get a proven midfielder before the end of the month or there could be trouble ahead of Keane or Fletcher get hurt.

He's a bench player for the most part. And he's more of a foward/creative-type player than a striker.

Thanks for that, the reason I was wondering was cuz of fantasy premierleague. I thought he was a starter though, because he played the most minutes of all the forwards last season, but I wasnt sure. Maybe it's because last year some of those forwards were injured or something, I didn't pay close attention to them last season.

I hope he does well, I had a chance to watch him in the Confed. Cup and I thought he did great, but I never would've thought he would've gone to England. It's weird to see him there.
