Yeah, it really depends on what your academy is producing . In our case for example, we probably wouldn't have to buy Jones for 20 millions if we had kept Pique. We wouldn't have to pay 27 millions if we kept Pogba. Same goes for Rossi.

Arsenal's net spend is very low because if the players currently in the team have been brought in when they were very young and cheap and some of them come from the academy itself.

Man City on the other hand built a team completely from scratch with money and have absolutely no notion about academy and develping players and hence their high spending fee.

If city wanted the success they already have there was no other way to achieve it in such little time. They've also heavily invested in their youth academy, created youth feeder teams and set tthemselves up for the future. They've managed to make city an attractive destination for aspects other than money

Yeah heard about these. In a couple of years we may see them promote their youth players but this will take a while. I am sure they will still rely heavily on transfers though because no matter how heavily you spend on academy, talent is very rare to find in England. Talent is something you can't buy.

I do support Manutd.

You might have gotten the wrong impression once i mentioned Barca. I'm just being a realist here and you have to agree with me that the top English teams don't consist of players that come from their youth academies. I just mentioned Barcelona, because their team has a lot of players from La Masia. Who are really important team members.

Jose Mourinho: Manchester City are lucky and will find their level in Champions League

Jose Mourinho has dismissed Tim Sherwood's assertion that Manchester City are the best team in the world and claims Manuel Pellegrini's are "lucky".

Tottenham boss Sherwood was full of praise for City following their 5-1 demolition of Spurs on Wednesday evening, but Mourinho, who takes his Chelsea side to the Etihad on Monday night, says the Premier League leaders will find their true level in the Champions League.

"Maybe, for the Tottenham manager, the planet is England," said Mourinho. "You will see (how good City are) in the Champions League. You will see in a couple of months."
Mourinho said City have benefitted from some game-changing decisions in recent weeks.

"They are lucky," he said. "The reality is they have many crucial decisions in their favour.

"Against Liverpool, the (Raheem) Sterling 'goal'. The penalty on (Luis) Suarez. Against Newcastle the goal that is a clear goal.

"Against Tottenham, (Michael) Dawson's goal, the penalty, the (Danny Rose) red card. They are having everything. I repeat, because I don't want to be misinterpreted, (it is) just pure coincidence.

"The referees, they try to do their best and sometimes they make mistakes and normally during the season the mistakes are split between teams.

"In their (City's) case, they have everything in their favour," added Mourinho, who insists his side are not yet ready to win the title.

"Next pre-season, day one, I will say we are candidates to win the Premier League. This season, the speech is we are candidates to win the next match. It doesn't matter where, it doesn't matter the opponent.

"We're just trying to win. I tell you now, before Man City... I will tell you before the Newcastle game next week, and then West Brom. I will repeat this."

Classic José, what a boss. "I repeat, because I don't want to be misinterpreted, (it is) just pure coincidence." (H)

Ok what the fuck is this? 0-1 down against Stoke? These bastards should be relegated. I'm gonna watch the second half, the score will end 1-3 for us. Mark my words.

Hahaha.. Spurs are done and they'll finish below Everton. And their manager is deluded.

Cleverley is shite plus Young as well.. I'm starting to get pissed off.

Young off, Januzaj on would make sense.

I just started watching since the 56th minute but WTF is wrong with this lineup? Why is Carrick in defence and Rooney in midfield?!

Too many non-defensive players. You have a midfielder as defender and a striker as midfielder. Welbeck is also out of position on the wing. We will lose that and probably concede more goals.

This is just so frustrating. When you need a goal, you play Rooney in midfield?! This is just plain stupid. You can't be losing against Stoke with Rooney, van Persie and Mata. These players are not being well utilized. Poor use of talent.

Rooney in the midfield is ok. But Cleverley, i'd send that guy to Siberia to work in mining camps. The guy is as useless as of piece of wood. Fucking send him to Serie A and be done with it. This guy should never start for us again.

I'll cherish the day when HE starts playing in Serie A for Sassuolo.

Rooney in midfield is almost as ridiculous as having Cleverley there. When you need a goal so badly, you drop Rooney back in midfield in favour of fucking Welbeck?

Oh don't get me starting me on Welbeck, he's shite, but not as shite as Cleverley. But he'll never be good enough. That's a fucking fact and i'm so pissed off right now.
