Very, very glad about the win and how it came. A humbling, a 3-0. The first goal was a freaking beauty! Now on to the final. Before any questions, no, i wont be taking sides this time (back in 2005 i was supporting Pool), and i'll refrain from commenting the final.

Consider me as a neutral because i simply dont know which side to support. Back in 2005, Liverpool were clearly the underdogs and considering years and years of underachievement, i had to root for them. Now i feel things are even so...

we'll hate you either way, don't worry about it (H) come on it's only fair you support Milan this time around, why should it be Liverpool one year and neutral the next? EVEN IT OUT! :p

Sorry for asking but how did you end up supporting Liverpool AND Milan while living in Brasil?

Because they will play in the final again in 2 years.:p

Gila scored(Y). Even though he had no defenders in sight of him he's broken the drought.

One of the first things to pop in my mind was Ronaldo. He has never won a Champions League before... Pretty harsh his team now makes it to the final when he isn't eligible to play :funny: Maybe they'll still bring him a medal...

I really thought Gila was going to missed that one :( BUT i'm happy i was wrong (H). Great Milan, and nobody is giving props to Ambro and Pirlo. Gattuso takle everything and everyone with a ball on their feet, but Ambro intercepted a lot of balls and Pirlo's passing and fiding the open guy to go forward was brilliant.

Kaka is in the top 3 of best player of the world, and Seedorf's recent form is just amazing.

some news...

Reports in England suggest that Milan are lining up a massive bid for Chelsea skipper John Terry.

The Rossoneri are eager to take advantage of the fact that the player is in a contract dispute with the Blues, who have refused to grant him the same £121,000 a week handed out to Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.

The Sun reports that the London club are unwilling to improve their last offer to the defender, telling him that he can take it or leave it.

According to the English newspaper, Milan have given a top agent the task of negotiating a deal for the England captain and have asked Chelsea to name their price.

“We have been monitoring Terry and his situation with Chelsea and believe he would be an excellent and valuable player for Milan,” stated a senior Milan source.

The player’s contract with Chelsea expires in 2009 and he is now considering his options, after chief executive Peter Kenyon insisted the club could not offer any more than it already had.

Terry is currently valued at £25m, but could be available for a fee of only £10m next summer due to his precarious contract situation.

Barcelona and Inter are also thought to be interested in the player’s services and are expected to join the race to sign him if he were allowed to leave Stamford Bridge.

=================================================

Ricky Kaka is a candidate for the Ballon d’Or and Champions League top scorer, but assures he’s not reached his peak yet.

“I am not at the top of my game yet. I’m better than last season, but I have many more areas to improve upon,” said the Brazilian.

“A while back I said I preferred to play with two strikers in front of me and all hell broke loose. I need to learn, improve, adapt and figure out the kind of things that forwards do so I can become a more complete player.”

He may be a Trequartista, but Carlo Ancelotti has transformed the former Sao Paolo starlet into a world class support striker.

“It is brilliant to be so close to the goal, but this is what I have to learn, how to make the most of the finish rather than provide the final ball for my teammates.”

Kaka has certainly settled into this new role, as he is the Champions League top scorer with 10 goals in 12 games.

With the Final still to play, he could even reach Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s all-time record of 12 goals in one campaign.

“If I can score a brace in the Final and become all-time top scorer, that would be incredible, but the most important thing is that the team gets to lift the trophy.”

He scored three of Milan’s five goals against Manchester United over two legs in the semi-final, setting up a special clash in Athens on May 23.

“It was a perfect match from Milan. It will be wonderful to face Liverpool again and it feels like a unique opportunity, so we hope this Final will be different.”

This is a repeat of the 2005 Final in Turkey, when Milan were leading 3-0 only to concede three goals in six minutes and eventually lose on penalties.

“It is a great chance to win a match we should have won two years ago. I do not look at it as revenge, but rather an opportunity to make up for that day in Istanbul.”

IF he actually can improve.... wow we could have an all time player here.

haha Terry? no thanks.

===================================

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has branded UEFA Champions League final opponents Liverpool 'a long ball team'.

The two giants of the European game will reprise their 2005 showdown in Athens later this month following contrasting semi-final wins.

Liverpool edged past Chelsea in a penalty shoot-out, while Milan were magnificent in thumping Manchester United 3-0 at the San Siro.

Gattuso has compared the two Premiership rivals and feels Liverpool are no match for their Manchester counterparts.

"I feel there is a noticeable difference in talent between Manchester United and Liverpool, and that we have beaten the better side of the two," said Gattuso.

"United have far more technical players, who are quick and able to do things on the ball. Liverpool do not have those individuals.

"What they have is a way of playing as a team. They are like an Italian team of 10 years ago.

"All they try to do is defend together, with everybody behind the ball and just one striker. Every ball is a long ball."

Gattuso is also relishing a midfield battle with Steven Gerrard, following the Reds captain's critical comments of the Italian in his autobiography.

The former Rangers ace added: "If he wants to say bad things about me to get me going, I'm very happy.

"I now have 20 days to prepare to play against him again.

"I still say I have respect for him and like the way he plays. I'm looking forward to playing him again and looking him in the eye before it starts."

This guy(Maldini) is a all-time great for me. Always for the team. They should definetely retire his number when he finishes, unless his son plays for Milan.

hi guys,

unfortunately i haven't had the chance to watch the first leg game at England, heard it was a great game, Kaká scored two amazing goals.

I always wanted Milan to win the competition (after Benfica of course), and i always had high hopes on it, now you reach the final when you weren't the favorites (not for me).

Some things i wanna say:

1. Pirlo breads class, my favorite Milan player, even before Kaká, i'm thinking of buying a shirt of him.

2. Gattuso is one of my new idols, such passion, such commitment to the club, i wish i could see many of those in Benfica... :(

3. Kaká is the world's best player, closely followed by Ronaldo, well, to be honest it's an hard decision, but since both are tremendously great players i choose Kaká because i was never a big fan of Ronaldo style of play.

4. Seedorf and Gattuso crying, Kaká, Maldini etc etc jumping at the end of the game, Kaká asking for the fans support in the first minute of the game, i mean, that's what made the difference in this game, like Liverpool made the difference with Chelsea, even got me chills, and i am (almost) a neutral.

5. Hope you win the final.

Ok, bye.

I wonder what kind of steroidal cocktail the AC medical/fitness staff are currently administering to the players?

I bet that it's some really top-o-the-line good ****.

One of the few players that still must be honoured. And this coming from an Internazionale fan. Maldini, Del Piero, J.Zanetti, Totti... All clear examples of people who love the colours of their team and are ready to do anything possible for it to seek glory. Excellent clear cut examples any footballer should follow.

spot the odd one out ;)

frustrating game so far against Fiorentina, Kaka had a legit goal disallowed after a great play on the left by Favalli and an even better cross. Kaka charges in and heads home only for the ref to blow the whistle for a non-existent push on the defender's back. then Milan get a penalty after a Viola defender has a brain lapse and handles the ball while under no pressure whatsoever, Kaka sends Frey the wrong way but the ball hits the inside of the post then travels all the way across the goal line and out :( depleted side but we're playing well, as are Viola when they attack but I think we can pull it off, we're getting lots of chances and space (Y)
