While it would be a total joke to overturn a deserved yellow card in favor of the hosts, I'd still like to point out how ridiculous it is to suspend a player for picking up 2 yellow cards in 5 matches. Considering you can pick up yellow cards for dissent, or running into the ball when the GK is trying to punt, it is so stupid; how can anyone say that 2 yellow cards, one of them being that last one, represents such poor discipline that Thiago Silva needs to be suspended.

To be honest, I don't know why suspension for yellow card accumulation exists at all on any level for any amount of yellow cards. I guess it can make sense for 5, 10, 15 etc in a 38 game season, because one game isn't so important and when you get to 10 it does certainly seem like a trend of poor discipline, but in tournament play it is just moronic.

I've had a thought; Can Diego Costa now come on to replace Neymar? xD

Totally agree with u!!!

Although,I think that a doubled yellow in a single match should suspend a player for next game yet!But cant see any point why a little amount of yellow cards in alternated matches, turn a player unavaliable for next game.Exceptions in case of a large number of yellows in few matches,as u averred!

Sneijder is a superstar, what a player, no idea what the fuck he's doing at Turkish championship.

True, Inter pretty much fucked him over during his last season there. I wish he was playing in a bigger league. He hasn't exactly shined during this World Cup, but he's integral for our midfield (using the word "our" here seems a bit bizarre since i'm not Dutch, but oh well) Even after de Jong was out, he managed to adapt to a bit deeper role and did very well. Too bad that transfer to United never happened. :P

Rafa van der Vaart is pretty much the same, quality player, but only real big club he's played for is Madrid, while being so talented.

there's still a big chance of Sneijder moving to man utd now under van Gaal's management considering both r dutch and LvG always like bringing dutch players to his team, vide his move from ajax to barcelona in 97.

now for van der vaart, really a pity he still playing for avarage european teams, such a technical player!I'd say the same for J.Cesar, though now he's high aged for a great team!

Nahh.. We've already signed Ander Herrera, Sneijder is aging and his best days are behind him i'd say. Also he's probably on huge wages so it's not going to happen. Would seem like a pointless transfer to me, back in 2010 it wouldn't have been, but now...

If it comes down to signing aging Holland players (which is not going to happen), i'd like Robben.

robben would be nice,an even better option for van gaal imo,I didnt mention him cuz I always forget he's younger than sneijder(even looking years older)haha

wonder if he sign Hummels, given ferdinand and vidic went away, also a midfielder to play aside Herrera and the young talent,Inigo Martinez to building man utd defence for next season(very unlikely, once I think he's not moving, not for another league so soon...anyway,great defender)!

Sneijder's pass on Robben's 5-1 vs. Spain was orgasmic and he had some amazing moments vs. Costa Rica too. That free-kick on the post was excellent, as was his shot on the crossbar. He still has it and he's working harder than ever to stay at a world class level. I'm very impressed with him.

I think Sneijder has been quite poor in open play aside from a couple moments.

So now Di Stefano is dead, and the Pope is still Argentine. I can figure out the ending...

Sneijder has been non-existent in most parts for some of the games, this coming from a Sneijder fan. :yoyo:
