One could argue that Pelé wasn't good either, the defenses back then were just shyte. Einstein wasn't a genius, everyone else was just dumb as ****.

I wasn't giving. I just don't care what he or anyone else thinks on this matter. That was my opinion.....you don't like it, too bad. It's the way I feel about the Federer's accomplishments.

You, or anyone else, want to crown Federer's a**, go ahead and do that, but IMO he is absolutely NOT what everyone else thinks he is.

I have to agree with that at some point, the era right now isn't as good as some time ago. Besides contenders that can surely beat Federer at any moment (Nadal), or players that in such moment of form can beat him in a 4-setter full of tie-break or long 5-setters(Safin, Murray, Djokovic), who do we have?

Yes, it's true. But it's also true that at some point, Federer makes some of them look like amateurs, that's the truth.

Roddick played better, and deserved to win, Fed got a bit lucky...so what? His 14 GS before weren't all about the luck. It was the talent, the perfection. Federer is god, and I understood that when he won Roland Garros.

Thank You, and good night.

(btw, Michelle Brito rocks :D)

He's played during an era when the men's field is AS WEAK AS IT'S EVER BEEN! Hewitt(easily overpowered), Safin(mentality), Roddick(lack of all-round game)....combined have less than 6 Grand Slams between them and were the main challengers to Federer at the start of this run. And none of them could consistently challenge him....NONE! In the last few years, Nadal and Djokovic have emerged as threats and they too have been very inconsistent on all surfaces, although Nadal is improving. Nalbandian???...HAHAHA!!!!

Seriously, I can't name one half-decent threat that Federer has faced on a consistent basis. Let's compare that to Sampras: Becker, Stich, Agassi, Courier, Rafter....ALL won atleast one grand slam and Agassi and Becker EACH won more than 6. Goran Ivanisevic and Richard Krajicek also won a GS each. There were ALL consistently challenging him and were not intimidated. Sometimes, when I watch Lleyton Hewitt play, I just get the feeling that he's lost the match before he even plays the first point! Ditto for Roddick and Andy Murray....they just don't have the consistency that Sampras' opponents had.

There's no depth in the men's field. Federer hasn't faced any consistent challengers in GS finals.....other than in a few finals with Nadal, and those have been in the very recent past. He hasn't been pushed hard enough consistently enough.

How is Federer to be blamed/demoted if he doesn't let the others win any GSs?

The way Serena Williams behaved in the women's semi-finals is pathetic. Its quite sad really a top athlete behaving like that.

Try to understand her. US Open, homeland and huge pressure. But still that was an unacceptable behaviour. I am amazed how good Kim is playing after such a long break though.

Pressure?:rofl::rofl: She's got no pressure to prove herself. She's already won everything!

She's always had a bit of an arrogant attitude though.......

She was well on her way to losing that match to Henin.

BTW, players curse at the referee ALL the time in numerous other sports........

Even Federer for so many years couldn't handle the pressure at RG. Then don't try to say that even the tennis stars don't feel pressure specially when they play in their homeland.

Yeah. Even Kim Clijsters, which is one of the best tennis players had pressure last night when she was serving for the match at 5-3 in the 2nd set, she lost 2 points and Wozniacki had 0-30. All tennis players have emotions and pressure, but the difference is some of them know how to hide them and the others don't. Look at Federer...He is always so calm. Don't you think he had emotions at RG? He sometimes can't speak at the celebrations and he has tears in his eyes when he lose (AO), but even when he wins. That means emotions.

I somehow understand Serena. You can't call foot fault at that score. You just CAN'T. Oh, and this isn't the first time Serena is called fault error at this US Open 2009:

Goodness the shot that Federer hit between the legs, to bring about match point against Djokovic was just sick. Out of this world.

Extremely shameful. I say it's indicative of very poor upbringing. And it's not racist, I would have said the same thing if Kim had said that.

What Did Serena Williams Say to Line Judge that cause her to Lose Match Point?

“I swear to God I’m ******* taking this ball and shoving it down your ******* throat…” and then after a bunch of other yelling she closed it off with a… “mother****er.”

If she had done that in Wimbledon or RG, she would have been banned for a year at least. This "could" happen now...

However, this fine may only be the beginning of the actions taken against Williams since it opens up the potential for a far harsher penalty from the Grand Slam Committee. The committee can opt to suspend Williams and fine her up to $250,000 as a result of her vicious verbal tirade.

Well that sucks. :(

I guess Federer paid the price for not converting his many break points and his serve was just wonky so many double faults. Credit to Del Potro he played well and never gave up. Nice to see Federer being gracious in defeat, unlike Serena Williams.

Age has caught up to Federer.

Remember Safin-Sampras 2000.......now you've got Federer-Del Potro 2009.

2010 Australian Open.....Round1, Day1: Sharapova out! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Other than 2 grand slams, she's become as utterly useless as a tennis player as Anna Kournikova was. Sorry, but she does NOT deserve to be considered a top player.

And her press conference couldn't be more unemotional. It's becoming quite clear that she doesn't believe in the cause anymore. "It's the first tournament of the year"....????? That was her excuse! LOL!!!

She's nothing more than a comical joke.
