You all claim that this is just a marginal section of turkish supporters. Then I have to ask
1. Why havent they been banned?
2. Why does it continue to happen on so many occasions where your teams are playing and lose?
Ive just been reading accounts of Chelsea fans who were at the Beitsikas game two years ago, hoveled in a corner of the stadium behind a razor edged fence, perspex glass, and fully clothed riot police who couldnt even protect them. Yet they were pelted with objects mercilessly, had bottles thrown at them, injured men and women with no discrimination, and whoever they dragged from the pile, they beat. Abramovich had to be hustled out early because they couldnt guarantee his safety, and the writer of the account had his head busted open from a broken bottle.
Now granted, this happens from time to time in places like the Den, Hellend Road, Anfield, etc etc, but on the whole you wont see fans of most english teams, including historically violent ones like mine, resorting to this during a loss or when their national team goes down. The Government got sick of these people and cracked down on them. It goes on in Scotland, but again, the authorities do enough to minimalize it. Same with other European leagues.
The question then must be asked: Why does the goverment not say 'enough' and keep these fans away from the turkish game? Why are they continually allowed to come to games and give your country such a black eye? Because when it goes on so frequently, and with such severity, its not hard to see why everyone on planet earth is elated to see you out of an international tournament.
