Yes you are right Fernandez but its still no excuse, because some people seem to get frustrated too easily. Its one thing being pissed off,we all feel like that sometimes, during and after a game. But it goes beyond frustration when you start to throw missiles and threaten to kill people.

don't worry, english hooligans will make what Turkish fans did last night look like nothing in next years world cup, and England will be banned from the next world cup.
hehehehee....there was a time when this was probably pretty near to the truth, but not any more mate. Our fans might be a bit lairy and loud but we have our hooligan problem pretty much under control now after so many years. We take away our hooligans passports so they can't leave the country.Thats not to say that some idiots who make it will not misbehave, but then again, every country at the World Cup will have its own element of mindless idiots in attendance.Lets see how the Spanish crowd react to black players for instance.Watch out for the German and Dutch hooligans who seem to be stuck back in 1980 when hooliganism was more common. The East European countries with their own nasty brand of prejudice and violence. The english will be the least of the organisers worry this time i think.

well i just watched the clip on page 17 and it clearly shows who started the trouble. How anyone can claim the Swiss started it after watching that evidence is just stupid beyond belief.
As for the lame excuse that mediteranian people are more emotional. That is bollocks.Everbody is emotional but NOT everybody resorts to violence. It seems that mediteranian people have less self control and that is a piss poor excuse for violence. So what if some dickhead calls your mother a whore or says that he f.u.c.k.ed your sister. If that sort of comment gets your blood boiling then you must be a retard. My mother is not a whore and nobody(as far as i know) has f.u.c.ked my sister,so whats the big deal. Its just name calling and if you cant ignore that then you need to grow up.

It was the first time the English behaved.

fair play to the english by stamping out their problems - other countries can learn from them. i think turkey is another story though. if you went as far as the english did, i wonder if it would effect the great unique atmosphere only turkish stadiums can have. if they cut out the violence from a minority of fans - they would probably be praised with having the best fans in the world.

What a nice level headed person you are. :nape: For your information mate,i do not hate Turks parse, but i do not like people with so much anger and hate inside themselves. You are a typical example of the sort of Turk that makes people dislike everything your culture stands for.You are ignorant, hateful and a disgrace to civilisation.Any culture that condones the terrible behaviour that exists whenever your team plays, does not deserve to exist.Your government defends the violence, your police force not only defend it but actually join in with it,and backward people like you just cannot come out and say "it is bad".Why do so many of you just want to stab people and hurt people? What the hell is wrong with you?
As usual i will pray the Turkish team do not make it to Germany....for everyones sake.

Man if some of you guys didn't talk trash about my race because of some stupid hooligans I wouldn't sound that upset in first place. When a turk does something bad then all the Turks suddely are the barbarians. It doesn't work that way man.

About three weeks ago Panathinaikos Athens played a basketball game in Turkey against Efes Pilsen. The whole atmosphere was really electrified-it's always like this in matches between Greeks and Turks in EVERY sport.Panathinaikos won easily and the home crowd showed more than sportsmanship at the end, applauding the visitors.Nothing at all happened.Need I remind again the match Turkey-Latvia two years ago?Nothing happened again.
I am the last man on earth to apologise for Turkey,but...hey...aren't we exaggerating a bit? Did we suddenly landed on planet earth and that was the first football match we ever watched? Why don't we take a look to some really hot derbies in South America? Is it the first time we see fans overreact after a bad result and point fingers to opponents? It's outrageous when any athlete is treated this way,but sadly this not the first time those things happen and certainly not always on turkish soil. And yes,I agree that maybe it all started by a couple of idiots who inflamed the atmosphere, wether swiss players or turkish fans, but the point is that we should stick to the great footballing spectacle offered during the match. There are hooligans everywhere and furthermore,I repeat, mediterranean people are very warm and lose their heads much easier.Don't be so critical to a whole natiom, wether it's called Turkey or whatever.

Well said, you are the guy that needs a big respect :ewan:

You dont have to tell me that my friend......I'm English remember. We have felt just as you feel right now.and its not nice at all. This is the price all you decent guys have to pay for other peoples behaviour. Some people will generalise and think of you all being the same. Most will be smarter than that and know ,that is not true.I've had to live with that for years. Its unfair but thats how it is.And i also know how hard it is not to react to the constant abuse.

OK I agree with you there kind of.

I have to say to all of you guys, if the Turkish side were treated in a respect way at the first game where it took place in Switzerland(suppost to be the most civilized country in the planet of earth) things could of went better in the second leg in Istanbul. You guys know that lots of **** happened in Switzerland towards the Turks right? If not then get your news or acts straight and stop playing dumb or blind. :kader:

Turk 1975.....I dont think the whole world is against Turkey man.Thats a bit extremeStill this thread is not anti-turk.
If this thread was about England VGermany, and all the same s.h.i.t happened after the match, and the Germans(sorry my German mates)....obviously started it......people would be in here treating the German fans exactly the same. Its not about race. Its all about what is just not acceptable. Its about anti-violence,anti-hate,fair play and respect for people. Not just in football but in life too.Its hard not to take it personally, but if you are one of the good guys, none of the s.h.i.t is aimed at you anyway.

ok ok probably you are not racist but some of the comments that I read it is sickening racism. Check these out

Comment #1 by Ficken "Those guys have the biggest inferiority complex on earth, worse than the Canadians or the Dutch"

Comment #2 by William "**** you all" Turkish flag

Comment #3 by TROD. 2002 - 2005 "oh ide rather be a chicken than a turk,
oh ide rather be a chicken that a turk,
oh ide rather be a chicken, rather be a chicken, rather be a chicken than a turk"

And there are some more of these kinds of comments about my race and my flag. meditaranian people take things personaly. And also we are sensitive as a whole nation. No one I mean no one boos my national anthome or you know the rest. I m not trying to be rude against you but as a Turk I don't deserve to read these things. Some of you don't know how to debate, I guess age is a factor to be honest.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has threatened to ban Turkey from the next World Cup after the ugly scenes at the end of their play-off game with Switzerland.

Switzerland booked their place in next summer's finals on away goals despite going down 4-2 in Wednesday's second leg.

The match was overshadowed by the violence at the final whistle as players from both sides became embroiled in scuffles as they made their way off the pitch.

Swiss ace Benjamin Huggel was caught on television kicking a member of the Turkish coaching staff as he ran off the pitch.

This caused a reaction from Turkey's Alpay who aimed a kick at Marco Streller before the trouble erupted further.

The clashes continued in the tunnel and Swiss defender Stephane Grichting was taken to hospital with internal bleeding, while Swiss boss Kobi Kuhn was also hit by coins thrown from the crowd.

The Swiss Football Association are to lodge a complaint about the incidents and Blatter admitted he was outraged at the scenes and that Fifa will take action against the violence.

"I can tell you this, not as a Swiss, but as the president of Fifa that we will act here and we will act tough," said Blatter.

"Something is going wrong in football. I've never seen anything like it"

The Swiss FA's complaint is expected to be heard before the 2006 World Cup draw on December 9.

If you don't want your anthem to get booed, simply stop watching football and watch curling. In every freaking international on Turkish ground the opponent's team's anthem gets booed so you get what you deserve. I can understand that fans, players and the coaching staff are sensitive and pissed off but there's no way that the stadium security beats up some players. At least those guys should act neutral and guarantee that ALL players are safe.
